No one is disagreeing with that.PFF article that shows how and where Brown will help the Pats win games. They completely skipped over how Brown was at his best on PA passes in Tenn. The Eagles don't run PA because Hurts hates being under center, something the new OC is trying to change. I believe McD will target Brown on PA passes by design. I would.
Brown dominates no matter the direction of his target. On passes over the middle of the field, he sports a 93.6 career PFF receiving grade; outside the numbers, that mark is 94.4. The same goes for any range of the field, with Brown earning at least a 91.6 receiving mark on short, intermediate and deep targets — including a ludicrous 99.4 on throws 10-plus yards downfield.

Now, see, if we were talking about Stefon Diggs from before last season, I would agree. But I think this Diggs is different. He seemed to really enjoy being here last year and getting to the SB and knows he dodged a bullet with his legal troubles. As long as he's fairly compensated, I think he'd come back even if he only caught 1 pass a game. Hell, I bet Diggs would be a lot less of a distraction than Boutte already seems to be.Welcome back, JD.

As is known here, I supported and lobbied for Diggs before he signed til his release. Diggs was great for the team. No one can say he wasn't and keep a straight face.
Brown is better.
Brown + Doubs + Diggs = 3 is a crowd. This young team under young Drake's leadership doesn't need the discord. Love the thought but hate the reality.

Didn' t you see Diggs in the playoffs...well, I guess no one saw him, but I meant didn't you notice the absence of anything resembling a decent WR? We had him, he was great, esp as a Maye mentor, but it's the mark of a crap-ass team that signs and pays a player for what he used to be able to do.

This is precisely how I view this. I fail to see how anyone could take negative view towards this deal. To me it’s a hell of a cap to an already fantastic off season.
Furthermore, the check's about to come due on Gonzo, followed by Maye. I have no problem that they view this as an opportunity window to capitalize before those two players are taking up a significant chunk of their cap space.
You say "what he used to do" like he was out of the league for two seasons. He had five 100-yard games, and 2 of them were in the last 3 games of the season.
Because he ran out of gas in the last half of the season and disappeared in the playoffs. Like my first girlfriend, I'm glad to have had her for a year, but towards the end, I'd seen enough. Besides, Williams flashed flashed his rookie year but was too far down the roster to get enough reps to develop. Now he's a sophomore and I want to see what he can do which won't happen if he gets buried another year. And even if Diggs might be decent, overall you do better cutting players a year too soon than a year too late.
Meh, I don't get the Kyle Williams love. I'd rather have Diggs back out there. Last year's top yardage receivers: Diggs, Henry, Boutte, Hollins, Pop Douglas, Rhamondre, Austin Hooper, TreVeyon, and then Kyle WIlliams. I'd rather have a guy with 11,500 career yards, even if he is 32. And, again, last year he was our #1. He won't be expected to carry the whole offense this time. I certainly didn't say big money. I said only crap teams sign and pay for players based on what they used to be able to do. I don't care how little he comes here for. Not worth it IMO, but that's only MO. We can look back next February and see how he did with whichever team signs him. Maybe it'll be a team with bad WRs and he'll get the ball a lot. Maybe not, but even if he does, I don't think I'll be saying, "Damn! If only we'd signed Diggs."
