I'm in search of a kick ass beef stew recipe for this weekend. Any assclown bretheren have a recipe for me? Thanks in advance.

Try this one, Tap. I"m sure you'll be happy with it.

2 pounds beef stew cubes
1 cup flour
Salt and pepper
Olive oil, for sauteing
2 onions, diced
3 cloves garlic crushed
1/2 bottle red wine
2 cups chicken stock
3 cups chopped fresh tomatoes
1 bag baby carrots
1 bag butter beans
1 bag frozen peas
1 dash hot sauce
1/4 cup capers

Flour the beef cubes in salt and pepper seasoned flour. Dust off the excess flour. Sear beef cubes in hot oil and remove from pan.
Saute 2 onions and garlic until translucent. Add beef back to pan and deglaze with wine. Add the chicken stock and tomatoes and let simmer for 1/2 hour. Add the carrots and simmer for another 1/2 hour.

Add butter beans, peas, hot sauce, and capers. Season and simmer for 1 hour or until the meat is fork tender. Check the seasoning. Serve on buttered bowtie noodles.

Enjoy.

Thanks Bru, I'll give it a shot.

The secret is the red wine. For what it's worth, a Mondavi red works best with this recipe. Good luck.

Try this.......The Falcons board has this recipe section. It is AWESOME....here's the link.

1 tablespoon salt
1 cup chopped spinach
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 cup chopped green beans
1/2 cup dry split peas

6 carrots, sliced
1 cup lima beans
3 cups celery, diced

3 medium tomatoes, cubed

1. In large kettle, cover beef with water and add chopped onion, salt, thyme.
2. Bring to boil.
3. Skim fat from surface.
4. Add split peas, cover and simmer over low heat, 3-4 hours.
5. Add all remaining ingredients.
6. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
7. Adjust seasoning, to taste.
8. Note: if you'd like it thicker, you can add a torn-up piece of bread or two, stir well, and simmer to incorporate.
