Are you happy with the Drake Maye pick?

Been off this board for quite a while. For all the (rightful) shit talking I did about Mac Noodle Arm Jones, it's the polar opposite for Maye. He is where I thought he would be next season right now. Dude is literally the real deal and I would take him over any of the other QBs in the '24 draft, never mind this years draft and probably into the future.

It's good to have you back.

I'm hoping that the upturn in the fortunes of the team will bring back some of the old-timers and not-so-old-timers, and also spur on some new members.

For almost 20 years we were witness to what a good coach, a good OC, and a 6'4" QB with an arm and a brain can do to the rest of the NFL, and I'm hopeful we're about to see it again.

For sure. In fact we're lucky JMD left after Mac's first season and that he was replaced with clowns. And thanks to those clowns for being so inept that we got a high draft pick to snag Maye.
I mean, I guess so. You're starting to approach "The Patriots' dynasty was made possible by Zeke Mowatt showing Lisa Olsen his Patriot Missile" theory levels of contingent causality, though.

Cheers, :toast:

Drake didn't have a very good game today. Fumbles, interception, and blown opportunities.

But I'll forgive him, just this once.
It wasn't great, but it wasn't awful. That Falcons D is legit and proved it today. It was a good test and I would say he passed it fine compared to most other QBs that have faced them this year.

I hope the falcons D line is top tier as they made what we hoped was an improving o-line look bad
I thought Onwenu came off what might have been his best game two weeks ago, to his worst. Bradbury's been in a slump around the same amount of time.
I have no real complaints about the rest of the line.

Maye ran into 5 of his 6 sacks, holding the ball, not coming off of lost reads, similar to last week. A lot of his sacks aren't the line's fault. Any time the ball's in his hands longer than 3 seconds, that's all you can ask of any offensive line.

I think MVP is going to come to Maye and Allen.
