Just sending a thank you to those who sent me a PM, or the words of safety directed towards me in regards to the Hurricane.....It is definately appreciated..............especially when it comes to football......we go at it pretty good.

Hey glad you are ok. How's your bro? I'm going to Ft Lauderdale in 2 weeks to spend almost a month. He's in Florida right?

Sports is a fun diversion. This kind of crap is real life and trumps everything else.

Talked to my son again last night and he doesn't think he'll be working at all this week. His office is in the blackout area and there's no estimate for when the power will be back on.

We head for Ft. Lauderdale Friday morning for a cruise. We get to spend one day around the airport area (the cruise leaves on Saturday).

Definitely. We have from noon Friday until noon Saturday to keep busy. Anything not too far from Stirling Rd. would be great (walking distance for two healthy people). We'd prefer not to take a cab anywhere.

Hard Rock Casino is off of Stirling Rd. and has a lot of great restaurants and a lovely outdoor shopping/plaza area. There's a phenomenal Cuban restaurant in the outdoor area that's one of my favorites. If you go, get the churasco.

It's really quite a place, and even if you don't play casino games, there's a lot to take in there. You could spend the entire day or night.

Edit: Stirling road is miles and miles long, so I'm not sure where you're going to be staying. I believe the resort is on highway 441, but I can't remember the number exactly. Also, you might not want to walk around at night, actually anywhere up and down the state, when you're west of Rte. 1 (Dixie Highway).

The only reason my bro want you to stay away is because he knows that after meeting me, you'll realize just how completely lame he really is.

I just looked it up, 3.5 miles. It's definitely something for us to think about. We can ask at the hotel. Thanks.

Just glad everyone is OK. I heard that Long Island got hammered. No power or clean water.

I've got family on Cape May, and though they're all fine, life is sucking big time. Everything is a friggin' mess.

Just chatted with my son. His office is still without power. If power is restored, he has no way to get to work unless he walks from Williamsburg to Union Sq (about 3 miles). His partner's office has power, but all their servers are down, so there's nothing that can be done. Even if the office were open, he'd have to figure out a way to get up to the CBS building near Times Sq.

Apparently, Manhattan is experiencing gridlock as many people try to use their cars to get into the city. Traffic is backed up at intersections and at parking garages. All tunnels are closed, so only the bridges are open which is making things worse. People hoping to take busses are stuck in the traffic anyways.

It's a huge mess.
