Bill Belichick did NOT make it to the HOF on 1st ballot

He also makes a good point about these people that have been sitting on the list for 67,244 decades. If they haven't gotten in by now, why should they all of a sudden get to bump somebody who's worthy of first ballot status?
It's not often I agree with Emmit Smith, but he's actually spot on here. I had not thought of it like that. If it takes 40 years for you to get in, I'm sorry, there's a clear message there. You weren't good enough at the time to get in so why should you be now?

You know, i'm watching the n f l live from the day that they found out that belichick wasn't going to be in the hall of fame. And it strikes me as funny hearing all of them give the correct position that it's absolute bullshit when it was espn (among others)that pushed all the bullshit narratives about what cameragate and ballghazi were to begin with. schefter gets an exemption because I think he was always team patriots on both of those.

Whenever anyone affiliated with the Patriots does make it into the HoF (and we know how unlikely that is), I want them to give a two-word acceptance speech.

No, not those two words. These two words:

Rodney Harrison.

Then mic drop and walk off the stage.

It may be a little too soon to say the Belichick won't get in.

It's been reported that he got 39 votes. It's also been reported that Kraft didn't get in. Let's say Kraft got 12 votes (just to make the math easy).

There are 50 voters who each get to cast 3 ballots. That's 150 in total. Subtract from that number the 51 votes Belichick and Kraft received (39 + 12).

That leaves 99 votes. If those votes are evenly divided among the three senior candidates (Anderson, Craig, and Greenwood), that is 33 votes each.

The new process says that if none of the candidates get 40 or more votes, the candidate from the final group with the most votes gets a yellow jacket. That would be Belichick at 39.

I don't expect that to happen - I expect that one of senior candidates will reach the threshold of 40 votes.

I also expect several replies to this post that say "I was told there would be no math."
Someone decided that the winners would not be announced, yet there was much effort extended to make sure it was known that two specific Patriots would NOT get in. With the intent of humiliating both. There could be no other reason.
Polian is one d-bag, but I always find Jerrah to be central to any plot involving asshattery.

Tells me all I need to know.

You absolutely KNOW he believes what he's saying. Rodney is basically putting a bullet in the head of his own chances of getting in by calling out ALL of the voters.

I love that man.
Rodney knows he is not getting in, and if he felt he was he still would have done this.
