Figured I would start this thread to keep track of where Bill ultimately ends up ...

The way the BB conditions were spelled out on Bedard’s show with Nick C., Belichick is telling the President of UNC they have to hire ‘x’ positions ( one of which was GM of recruiting) and the University needs to spend y amount of dollars on the program.

I don’t see him getting that job.

Yeah. He basically wants to try to remake how college football is done which in a way doesn’t surprise me given how much of a Control freak he is. But that really isn’t gonna fly at the collegiate level.

I was thinking he may have a good shot of getting it just because it’s a secondary collegiate football program, but in reality, those smaller programs have less fluidity to be able to do the things that he wants. And UNC will spend on basketball before it does football which makes it all the more surprising that he is interviewing there TBH.

No he isn’t. Alabama. Ohio St, Oregon, etc all already have all the things BB is asking for. Hell, even Stanford has those things in place. It’s a new world in college football.

Absolutely agree with you, OSU. Times have changed and through that one of the reasons Nick retired. It is leaning more like the NFL bit by bit. And more suited for BB.

You know that the OP wishes BB all the success happiness in the world. You just have to read the post of this person over the years to see the love for BB come through.

UNC is not a secondary college program.
They have been trying to compete at the highest level. Mack Brown was considered to be a top college football coach. It just didn't work out the way everyone had hoped.
The ACC has been down for little while but 5 years ago was competitive with the SEC and Big10. There is no reason why it can't get back to that level in a short period of time.

I find it hard to believe that Belichick is going to give it a go at the College level at this point in his career. The only way I could see him doing it is if it's going to be for one season. Just long enough to get his son a HC job.

How do you feel about this potential move to college for Bill?
I think today's a good day to put money on UNC's 2025 playoff odds. And Miami just got royally fucked.

I really don't have an opinion about it, he's going to do what he wants, just like always. I wouldn't have minded if he just stayed in media forever. shrug

Well, you are wrong on that
