Bill Belichick potentially looking at UNC job

You make good points about the veterans and complicated defenses. But...
College football has always been recruiting first and coaching 2nd. Bill should be able to draw players nationwide with his reputation and promise to run a program that
will have his seniors ready for pro ball. If the NIL money is there, and I'm sure he checked that out, he should draw more than his share of the best players.
His transfer portal is going to be lit now that players can transfer once without sitting out a year.
On one hand, absolutely. On the other hand, would the players and parents believe that he's going to be there for their whole career anyway? If they think it's Steve after a year or two, will that advantage hold?

If you're not getting playing time at a top 5 school right now, where would you go to get you the most NFL ready?
Needs a QB. Wonder if Castellanos decides FSU isn't for him?

It will all be about how the first year goes. If he's able to get a bunch of kids drafted, then it won't matter as much.

He signed a 3 year deal. He'll be there for the 3 years otherwise Stephen won't become HC.
He can do damage in 3 years, possibly a national championship and definitely competing for one.
Does Josh join him? Brian? Regardless, he'll have one of the best staffs college football has seen.

UNC knocked this out of the park.

I LOVE it.

And while I won't be dropping my SPARTANS, I will now be watching UNC with interest.

I never thought Belichick would ever be a college head coach but I was wrong but I really hope he will have success with the Tar Heels

Here's the schedule next year. Guess their record. Undefeated is not out of the question in year 1.

They get TCU at home, that will help. Clemson at home too, which is huge.

At Cal is a loooong trip, and Syracuse is pretty tough in the dome, especially if the crowd's into it. The road finish at Wake will be a sneaky tough game. UCF on the road is a potential trap game. Even in Mack Brown were still there, that's probably a 7-5 record. You can afford to lose a couple of games, especially if one's non-conference. 7-1 in the conference will probably get you in the championship game.

Dabo already shitting his pants

BB will the same type of success that Pete Carroll had at USC. It wasn't legal when Pete was doing it but it is now. NC about the become a powerhouse.
Well, selling Chapel Hill, NC isn't as easy as selling Los Angeles. Now, you get Jordan and LT and Julius Peppers to talk to the team sometimes, that might help.

I am damned curious about the staff he's going to bring in. McDaniels is the assumption, but I don't think he's coached college since he was at John Carroll as a GA, has he?

Reasonable assessment. Let's revisit this mid-summer after the portal transfers are concluded. That will be the BB Effect.

Chapel Hill is a gorgeous campus and the school is terrific, too. LT is already talking about helping to recruit on X. Besides, LA isn't for everyone.

Not coaching offense in college may be a good thing...

If Josh wants to coach again, college is a better option for him than the NFL. Besides, he's been paid handsomely by Mark Davis so he can do it for the challenge & love of the game.

This is a joke. If there was a team that thought BB could win a Super Bowl, hell get a playoff win, he’d be coaching in the big leagues. This is a vindication of everything I’ve said for years. He better learn quick that he doesn’t need thinkers. You need guys who are bigger and faster, and better athletes.
North Carolina? This talk about his son taking over? I’m not against sons following their dads into coaching, and there have been many examples of sons becoming damn good coaches. They eventually stepped out of father’s shadow.
I lived right by VA Tech during Frank Beamers run dominating the ACC. If he can do it I guess BB can. Beamer Ball…….. so frustrating.
Looking at that schedule it’s about as cupcake as it gets.
At least when Harbough went back to college he went to Michigan. A place where he had some pressure to win. This is a joke.
This is just another example of BBs ego. Does he really think he can coach them up and win a title. Otherwise what’s the upside here? To improve the program? Well that shouldn’t be hard. If Steve follows him they both should be embarrassed.
