Brady, Belichick, Patriots up to old tricks

Old tricks?

Pretty sure this is something new. ::coffee::

Actually, I interpret the title to mean outsmarting and outperforming the competition.

If my idea has any merit, The caption is a double entendre and your interp is perfectly correct as to one meaning.

Headline writers are renowned for the clever double meanings. To every Pats hater out there (and there are a couple), the first thought of the meaning of patriots and old tricks almost surely would be cheating (i.e.for that constiuency the headline would almost CERTAINLY be read negatively). Coming out when it did, I just can't help assume the worst. As so many fiction detectives (starting of course with Sherlock) maintain. "I don't believe in coincidences."

Cheers
