Brady homer: New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was a camp guest on Friday and participated in batting practice wearing a Giants uniform. He crushed one ball over the fence in right-center. Brady, a five-year pro, was a star athlete at Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif., the alma mater of slugger Barry Bonds.
Not bad for a catcher drafted in the 18th round.
Interesting little sidenote... While the Expos drafted Brady in the 18th round , Michael Barrett was drafted in the 1st round by the Expos, but as a SS. On the final day of the Instructional League season he was told to make the switch to catcher. And I only know this because Barrett has become one of my favorite Cubs players.
