Broncos' Players Vote To Skip OTAs; Other Teams Joining Them

Citing COVID concerns, the Broncos' players like the prospect of a prolonged vacation. The NFLPA is flexing on behalf of its union members. It's their right.
In their statement they said the quality of play last year (with skipped off season) was better than ever across the league. I take issue with that.
I'd also point out significant injuries were up 16% in the NFL in 2020 due in large part to not enough run up to playing games.
So far Tampa Bay and Seattle have joined the Broncos in opting out of OTAs.
Patriots? Practice makes perfect. Mask up.

If there are voluntary OTAs, and you choose to workout privately and lose 10 mil getting hurt, I guess that is your right. Is it the smart choice though.
That is the part that irks me with the PA. There is a HUGE risk to players who get hurt working out on their own. This Bronco player just lost $10 mil. That is a crime IMO and the PA should pay him. These players played and practice together ALL last season with amazing protocols in place. The only teams that has issues were the ones that broke protocol and now we have the vaccine. It is terrible that the PA is telling them to boycott and then they get hurt and lose their money.

Maybe showing up isn't such a bad idea after all.

Wynn doesn't look so bad now:

James was training away from the team’s facility, which will put his $10MM base salary in jeopardy. The veteran right tackle signed a big-ticket deal with the Broncos in 2019, but he missed almost all of that season and opted out in 2020. Now, it looks like the 29-year-old blocker will miss the entire 2021 season as well....this development may well end his Broncos career at just 63 snaps.....
