Buying a second tablet, shuld I go with a 2nd Samsung or get an Apple?

LOL, I guess I'm a cheapass. I just don't understand why Apple products are so expensive (probably why I only have an iPhone that AT&T sold me for $1 a couple years back). I mean, I like it...it's been a good phone, but there is no way I would drop the kind of cash that they want for these things retail. Especially new.

Totally understandable

Because people will pay it.

What Apple has done better than almost any other company is build its brand. People are willing to pay for the Apple brand, even when competing products exist at lower price points for similar or sometimes better performance. It's why you see so many students walking around with $2000 Macbooks to write papers and listen to music lol

I buy Apple comps because the operating system works reliably without the huge threat of virus attacks and endless popup crap that plagues windows. I could care less about the brand per se; I'm attracted to the reliability and speed they build in to their comps without endless interruptions.

As for the iPhone, I like the simplicity and user friendliness of them. Androids have caught up but they are not nearly as easy to use even though androids offer more flexibility for experienced users. I also like the little bit of extra security imessages offer over text messages.

Never had a problem with our iPad or any of our iPhones. Constant problems with pop ups, lag, buffering, and viruses on our pc laptops.

Not to mention the difference in quality of feel in your hand.

I'm not in need of any of the extras a droid could offer.

I'll stick with Apple.

These are two different mediums. You won't get those issues on an Android or Windows tablet/phone either.

Also, I personally don't understand complaints about viruses and pop-ups on Windows. I'm a more advanced user, but still. I've been using PCs for 15-20 years and I've had a grand total of 2 viruses. My family, who are technology-dumb have had maybe 3-4, and only 1 or 2 required me to reformat for them. Pop-ups are easily resolved through using proper browsers and plug-ins.

I'm not an Apple hater, they make good products and for certain markets the products are very suitable. But they are expensive and most users end up paying more than they need to because they want the Apple brand. Nothing wrong with that, but it's the reality.

Obviously you're not going to enough porn sites. I think piggy could be a walking virus :dith:

$354 is a price DROP?

Apple is great at creating a demand for their overpriced products. If you're not a geek, and don't mind paying a premium, they are a fine choice.

They keep their stuff simple, and if that means a cutting out functionality, so be it. You can't argue with their strategy though. It's worked well. I will say the iPhones early on had good cameras and sound before other products caught up to them.

You'd be amazed at how many people don't have any real time anti-malware and/or firewall protection, or if they do, they have Norton or McAfee.

The former is like parking your car in the bad part of any major city unlocked, with expensive toys sitting on the front seat.

if you're surprised to find out that they were stolen, then you're also likely surprised you've got issues without decent malware.

Norton and MacAfee are crap protection and resource hogs, so even if you don't get a virus, they can bog down your system.

Also, plenty of people don't get Windows updates. That's why Microsquish changed Windows 10 to not even ask you if you wanted the upgrade.

The other thing that happens to most people is that they install some sort of freeware and don't pay attention during the install and various bloatware/addware gets installed.

The solution is trivial simple, ALWAYS click on the "advanced" radio button and it will ask you if you want various items. "just say no".

The primary reason Apple PC's don't get malware is that they are such a small percentage of the PC's out there.

hackers don't write much malware for their OS simply because there a massive larger number of Window's PC's
