Celtics

Man this broadcast is absolutely horrible, so much homerism it takes the fun out of watching them play. I had to mute the tv it was that bad.
I don't think homerism is the problem. There were no bigger homers than Heinsohn or Most, and they were tremendous. I just think Drew Carter is extremely annoying. I don't need to hear his schtick of reciting a players stats every time they wind up to shoot. "Pass to Jrue, best corner 3 shooter in 2023....", clank. Sean Grande should have got that gig, he's 100x better than Carter. I don't mind Scal that much, he at least knows the game and says intelligent things sometimes, but I would take Max over him too.

Thanks for this, I threw it up on the TV so it would capture the attention of my boys (which it did) so I could stop and talk about Kevin McHale to them (which drew some eyerolls from the wife).

I love Charles Barkley so much. He constantly says that while Michael Jordan was the greatest basketball player of all-time, every current NBA player owes their paychecks to Larry Bid and Magic Johnson. And whenever he gets the chance, he lauds Kevin McHale as being the second-greatest power forward of all-time (behind only Tim Duncan). It is pretty astonishing that McHale is a virtual afterthought when the discussion comes up among KG, Malone, Duncan, et al. Unless you saw him, you just cannot appreciate the player that he was.

There was no better player in the post. He always had an answer with one of his many moves. He could shoot the occasional three pointer as well. i agree with Charles. i take mchale over KG and malone.

The Celtics have lost. 3 out of their last 4 games. The effort hasn't been there. They look too comfortable. I'm concerned.

I felt the same way Christmas night, but, honestly, when they are healthy, name a team that can beat them in a series?
The grizzlies OKC Cavs and the celtics

Looks like they woke up.

I'd feel better if they showed more ways to win when the 3s aren't dropping.
They went back to sleep again. That's 4 out of the last 6 they have lost. They are shooting too many threes. Its time adjust.

Am I the only one? Who thinks it's going to be. A lot harder for the Celtics to win another title this year. :coffee:

I think it was going to play out that way by the NBA's own design anyway. I would be shocked to see a repeat NBA champ any time soon. Plus other unique-to-the-Celtics factors like the long playoff last year followed by the Olympics, Porzingis's long-term status, etc.

That being said, there are really only two teams in the NBA playing lights-out basketball right now (Cleveland and OKC) and we've barely turned the calendar into January. If the Celtics can be at full health by the playoffs, I don't care what seed they are.
