Celtics

Now they are losing to the lowly raptors. They are 7 and 7 in their last 14. Let me guess. Everything is fine. They can just turn it on in the playoffs. who's going to beat them. blah blah blah. They need a major attitude adjustment.

Alarming loss. I only watched in small chunks but you can't lose to NBA doormats like that. Toronto did beat Golden State the game prior, but GS is only playing .500 ball themselves so it's not as "David and Goliath" as the Celts match-up.

C's have had a bad run of allowing multiple 30+ point quarters to opponents in games. That needs to stop if they want this skid to end.

What a pathetic, embarrassing performance that game was. That was like watching an adult league game somewhere. :poop:

Yup, but not quite as bad as the Bruins. No team in any sport gags as often and badly as they do. But hey, things are looking up. They've won one championship since Nixon was president so they're due, LOL.

Again, C's allow two 30-point quarters to an opponent. And after a very good 1st offensive 1st quarter, the C's could only muster a pathetic 15 points of their own in the 2nd. I didn't see the second half but this team is consistently inconsistent on both ends of the floor. It's not just one things.

Man....what about this Doncic trade? It's blown the NBA up, the reaction has been incredible.

All I can say is, I hope Doncic can stay healthy because he seems to be injured more times than not. LA have taken a bit of a gamble.

Luka is an incredibly talented offensive player but he does not take care of himself and will be washed by 30. But I am so glad he is not on my team because if he was, they'd have to pay him just like the Mavs did. I don't blame them, they had to.

But he is a turd and I cannot stand him. The best part of this trade for me is that he is no longer supermax eligible for his supermax so he loses about $115 million on top of the shock of being traded. Should have learned to play D and he would still have it. Turd.

1) The double apron of the salary cap will make more of these kinds of trades in the future, because of the penalties associated with them.
2) Luka Doncic looks like he's 270 lbs, so I think that was probably true, he goes one of two ways going forward, and the chances of him being on the Hornets at age 32 being 320 lbs is pretty high.
3) They (Dallas) fucked Doncic out of 50 million. There's no way the PA puts up with that, that's actually crazy.
4) The Mavericks are a better team for the next 2 years than the Lakers are, a fact which will be ignored by all the hand-wringing in the media.

Agreed. Just speaking for myself, I found myself on the edge of my seat on virtually every possession. It felt like one of last season's playoff games.
As Celtics fans. We needed that kind of win. Because they had been playing. With their heads up their ass for a while.

I detect the not-so-subtle hand of the league's front office behind this.

The NBA needs to have a top five player in LA. Lebron will be retiring soon, and without him, a Lakers team led by Anthony Davis won't attract a lot of attention or perhaps even make the post-season. Even with Lebron and Davis the team has barely qualified for the playoffs the last two seasons.

I suspect there were some other incentives offered to the Mavericks that allowed this particular deal to go down.

Edit: A couple of articles from today's headlines

Lakers' run of dumb luck continues as another unbelievable trade falls into GM Rob Pelinka's lap

Scores and record indicate that they're focusing again. Haven't seen a game in a while, but it sure looks better.
Lots more letting Tatum and Brown create more, and put the ball on the floor if it's there, rather than having them settle for contested jumpers. It's making all the difference.

Blown out Cleveland, New York and Miami all on the road, all back to back. And Tatum's making a leap. He looks like the best player in the league right now.
