Celtics

W

Who the fuck cares. You were also a negative Nancy last season.
The Celtics are better on the road. Then they are at home. lol how the fuck is that being negative? what are you ten years old?
:coffee:

Would be great to blow the doors off of these early round opponents in order to load manage in the 4th quarter of these games.
You could make the case Orlando's their worst possible matchup in the East. They should still have enough to handle them, but they're no tomato can.

Besides, they've done enough load managing over the last couple of months.

I'm not really expecting any cupcakes. On paper, round 2 might be the easiest path as both teams were a combined 7-1 vs. the Knicks (4-0) and Pistons (3-1). I expect the C's to have to grind at times against the Magic, especially if Orlando gets as hot from 3 as they are capable of.

The Heat have played competitively against the Cavs and the Pacers went 3-1 against them in the regular season so hoping either of those two teams at least push Cleveland to the brink of exhaustion.

I think it's going to be a lot harder this year to win. Then it was last year. Tatum is playing the best bball of his career. Hopefully that gets them over the hump. That and zingus must stay healthy.

That 3rd quarter was an abomination. If that 3rd quarter were being drafted, it would be Eugene Chung.

Good bounce-back game to take a 3-1 series lead. Will be nice to get Holiday back and see this team at full-strength. Hopefully they can wrap this series up in 5 and the Piston's can stave off elimination so the boys in green can get a little extra rest.

Hamstring injuries. Are never good. And have a tendency to last a long time. Holiday is a big loss. Especially playoff holiday.

C's are on to round 2, Game 1 is Monday night and opponent remains TBD.

Game 6 of Knicks-Pistons is tonight in Detroit. Rooting for a Pistons win tonight which would force a Game 7 on Saturday. I feel like the Knicks will ultimately win that series but they literally have zero bench so I want their starters to have some high mileage with a lot of wear'n tear going into round 2. The rode their starters into the ground in the postseason last year before bowing out to Indiana in 7.

Knicks have 1 win vs. the C's over the past 2 seasons and that was a meaningless game toward the very end of last season. C's should breeze into the ECF's. That's where the REAL basketball begins.

NBA 'Bracing' For Significant Celtics Roster Turnover Amid Ownership Shift
enjoy this team now. As it is presently constructed. i was really hoping this ownership purchase was going to fall apart.
As Charania notes in his report, the Celtics have five players in Porzingis, Holiday, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White set to make $28 million+ next season. If left as is, it would contribute to a league-record $500 million salary bill.

I predict they do not trade any of those players during the offseason, but even before this report, I assumed Holiday and Hauser might be moved in order to take on a couple of expiring contracts. Porzingis is a FA after next season, and they are not going to keep an aging Holiday over Derrick White. I feel like those moves were likely to occur even if the Grousbeck continued to own the Celtics.

Let's just hope they don't take this team down to the studs, a la the Red Sox. I can live with a reset year or two because that second apron handcuffs teams from being able to do so much, so I get it. But their window for subsequent championships should largely be open through at least the end of Tatum's contract.

I'd much prefer playing the Knicks vs. the Pistons. Virtually anything is possible during the playoffs and I might end up regretting that preference. But, other than Brunson (terrific player IMO) I don't really fear them. I actually think they were more dangerous with last year's crew.
