Celtics

Really liked Holiday but its the reality of the league/"business". early reactions I'm hearing are giving Celtics credit for this move while also noting how much Holiday was a great player and will be missed.

The value of second round picks is very, very questionable and undoubtedly low. And the last thing the Celtics need is a guard who is ball-dominant, which Simons is. I don't want my PG scoring 20 a night. I want him seeing the floor and making the right pass to make everyone around him better, and playing fierce D so every trip down the court for the opponent is one they have to think about and work for.

In the short term with Tatum out it gives another scorer that the defence needs to take seriously.

Immediate take is that I don't like the move.

I like it. Hate losing Jrue, but understand why it was done. Simon s a shooting guard who should fit well with the Celtics next season. Derrick White will continue to be the point guard.

Neither is a true PG, though. White is best at SG. He plays a good PG, but he should be a shooter/scorer rather than a facilitator first.

Meh, I'm open to it. I don't like weakening the defense.
