College football 2023 thread

Tell me, as an outsider, how big is rivalry week in college football? I can only imagine it must be massive and such an exciting week throughout he country.
It’s everything & coaches are either glorified or vilified. John Cooper went 111-43-1 with 3 shared Big 10 titles but he went 2-10-1 against Michigan & he is viewed as a loser & not very well liked to say the least. Ryan Day is quickly heading in that territory.

The guy who started the Go Fund Me to investigate OSU's investigating Michigan. This one of the funniest things I've ever read on the internet:

He's at $55 as of that screenshot.

Saw that news as well on “PAC-2”
hope they can flesh out the conf in next two years but that likely means mountain west teams. Probably pretty hard to recruit players considering their conf situation

penis looked good from what I saw , while Williams no-show for the post game press conferences another red flag
aaarrrgghhh.... autocorrect. I have been asking how to turn that off. doh!

Penix looked good. omg..

It is massive regardless if you are in the SEC, Big 10, ACC or other conferences. It does not matter if your school is small, medium or a large university, rival week is just so much fun and so much more hype sometimes.

#LoveIt

You will see this celebrated from the East to West Coast and up and down. LOL

Meh. No one cares about college football in the Northeast.
That’s because your teams are trash and talent rarely comes out of that area. You’d probably care if the Northeast put out more athletes instead of white dorks who order extra frothy and overpriced iced lattes every day while making resin art.

Other than the Ohio State vs Michigan game, there are no other games with ranked teams playing each other. I know there is a late game between Oregon vs Oregon State.
This is unusual because this has been a big weekend in the past.

The last two weeks, I've had a hard time finding a lot of close, back-and-forth games involving the usual name teams, so
I just quit watching and find something else to do.

There is nothing better than an underdog sticking it to a ranked team, but the rivalry games aren't really about
much except winning a game with a lot of years of tradition behind it in front of a packed house.

That might be just the ticket for enjoying an actual good football game instead of watching some ranked powerhouse steamroll
another patsy who just needs some cash to keep their program afloat. Or watching the "Nobody Really Gives a Shit Bowl" between two
7-5 teams playing in half-empty stadiums.

When Doug Flutie was big at Boston College, college football was much more a focus. I believe when Matt Ryan was at BC as well it got a bump (but not Flutie like). don't remember Ryan much but do recall Flutie.

and what is wrong with resin art? :coffee:

Only reason to watch some of those non- playoff Bowl games is to look at players that for the draft. I'd rather see them actually play football, not do Combine workouts.
We now have a new "opt out" phenomenon, so some won't play with their teammates in a bowl game.

Whenever I'm in the Northeast, I bring my resin art coffee mug with me when I visit overpriced coffee shops, where dropouts from Florida colleges pull my double-shot lattes.

Even Florida dropouts are smart enough to not leave Florida for Massachusetts. That’s a nice, gay little mug, though.

Nothing. I hate the bubbles…they’re hard to remove.
