So if Ohio state wins the national championship but lost to Michigan earlier is it a good year?

Losing to Michigan or not, OSU coming back one year later to reclaim the crown is going to cause plenty of gastro-wolverinial issues among that fanbase.
I was happy that this might finally be Oregon’s year but in the end, #7 vs # 8 validates the playoff format.

It validates the format, in that the best teams were all included in the playoffs, but the not seedings.

I think next year they might seed the teams by going with the rankings instead of re-seeding teams. Also, the new playoff system is similar to the NFL in that you can lose an early or late season game & still have a shot at the whole thing. Both these teams did just that.

I'll never understand why teams do this stupid shit & I see NFL teams do it in short yardage as well sometimes. This right here was game set match.

The play is fine, but the execution was complete dogshit.
QB has to fake like he's running a power or draw and THEN pitch, not pitch right away like that.
I agree. You have 2 NFL 1st round picks at the tackles. You run a quick hitter behind one of those big boys 3 times, if needed.
OSU has talent and speed off the edge and the LB. Why run wide to their strength.?

Watch #2 Caleb Downs. He sniffed that thing out before it even started. Then you have for a Texas a tackle, TE & two wr's trying to block Downs, Ransom and Igbinosun. What’s the chances you block all three of those guys running East and West? Good fucking luck with that.
44 of OSU is a very good edge player as a rusher and edge setter. But Banks could block power him straight up. Classic case of a play caller overthinking the situation.
