College Football 2025 Thread

Not a fan of Indiana (more for Purdue) but I wouldn’t mind either team winning. I like Alabama after going down there in 12, 13 for mission trips and going to a bama basketball game.

🎊 to Indiana , well earned. Im okay you won. Hearing about your season well done.

Before the game I told OSU I was braced for a loss.

If anyone wants a good laugh, go to "366 sports" page on facebook. They are a new york sports based page who hates any Indiana sports team. Prior to todays game, "IU will be blown out today, they had an easy schedule, Bama is much better" (I'm paraphrasing multiple posts). After the game, "IU Sucks, they played nobody and they won't win the next game", again paraphrasing but you get the idea. It is hilarious. Also the page was silent for the most part since 12/11 but suddenly had mulitple posts a day about Indiana.

Holy smoke! I turned off the Georgia vs Ole Miss game at halftime.
I figured that Geogia was going to win by a lot. Happily I see Ole Miss came back and won the game.
So, we have Indiana vs Oregon and Miami vs Ole Miss in the semifinals.

By the way - there is nothing more overrated in all of sports than Just. How. Great. the SEC supposedly is.

5 fucking teams in the CFP from that conference, one goes through to the semis (and I'm pretty sure that's just because two of them played each other more than once). What a joke. Just as many as the maligned ACC. Vanderbilt (Ranked 14 in the country by the way, hysterical) got croaked by a shitty Iowa team in their bowl game.

Somehow the narrative that the SEC is SO much better than every other conference just needs to end. I don't know how to do it myself, I'm open to suggestions.

It does look like the SEC has taken a blow to its prestige.

This year I will agree with you. In fact I could point out a few more years. The players stay a couple of years and either transfer or enter the draft. Keeping key players has taken a hit. The NIL killed us big times.

But overall if you go back it was a tough conference. JMHO And who knows it may be again whether people agree or not.

In the 2000s and 2010s when it was Saban and the Bama dynasty, LSU and Auburn popping up every couple of years to be a real threat, Georgia's resurgence under Kirby, Florida was still good, etc. Yes, the SEC was the best conference in college football.

Now? Florida's a joke, Bama is coasting on reputation from the Saban days, Georgia simply doesn't have the athletes on defense it used to have - and yet, we get how great the SEC is down our throats every week. The only reason all those teams were in the top 25 is because they were all overrated and played each other.

Missouri, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU, Texas - all these teams were in the top 25 all year, and lost to any team that could put up an actual fight against them.

Assuming Mario doesn't turn into a pumpkin (as he sometimes does), I think Miami mollywops Ole Miss.

And then we go into next year hearing how great the SEC is again. It's even permeated into college basketball, which is an even bigger joke, but that's another discussion for another thread.

I am ready for the next season but first the draft to see which players are leaving my team and the teams I root against. I understand, announcers will say things that irk the crap out of me and repeat it over and over. Yesterday hubby said they are just trying to fill in the time but man I got tired of hearing similar accolades repeatedly that was in reference to other teams.

I am not against rooting for Indiana. Watching them they have some special players. Georgia and Michigan is gone, so still a good season for me. Yes, find the silver lining where I can find it. LOLOL

I do hope that any coaches' pride and NIL investment allows Bama to start that 5-star freshman they have. Ty Simpson just ain't it.

When 95% of your plays are throws and a bucks running game, a team will go nowhere.

You're in luck, Muse, looks like some team is going to take Ty Simpson off your hands.

(And I am desperately trying to talk them out of it)

At University of Washington, they “signed” QB Demond Williams for 5 million for next year.

Willams finds out he can get up to 7 million from LSU. Goodbye Washington.

Hey wait, you can’t do that, you signed a contract. We are going to sue.

You can sue but you can’t stop me.
Such is college football today.

Demond Williams has been described as sort of like Kyler Murray.
