College Football 2025 Thread

Ole Miss coaching staff has Joe Judge and Charlie Weiss Jr.
Weiss is going to LSU after the Rebs season. Speaking of Judge this was funny.

"My next-door neighbor was Aaron Hernandez," Judge said, according to CBS Sports. "I know this is still more chaotic."

Ole Miss kicker hit the left upright from 52 yards and it's no good.
A little while later he tries from 54 yards, it hits the left upright again, this time it goes through for 3 points.

Shannon Dawson needs to be left in Tempe, I've never seen such a horrifically called 2nd half, holy shit.
Survive and advance, those kids overcame some terrible coaching tonight.

We'll se how it goes tomorrow. Revenge game for the Ducks & I would imagine the Canes would rather play that soft ass team instead of IU
I want no part of Indiana if this is the coaching staff that shows up. Not only horrid playcalling on offense, but the genius DC calling press fucking man with 10 seconds left on their own 25 to give up a 30 yarder. Just brutal.

Oh, by the way.
Nice conference you've got there, SEC. :coffee:

Miami did all they could to lose a game that shouldn't have been that close. One mistake after another.

Betting we won't see the ragged play by Indiana tomorrow night.

I have a hard time seeing Mendoza a Raider.

TOP was 41:22 to 18:38 in favor if Miami. If you told me only the TOP would be prior to kickoff, I'd have thought Miami would have won by no less than two TD's.

Legitimately dropped 6 INTs. Ended up losing most of the secondary due to injuries and targeting calls. 3 dropped first downs, 4 false starts, flu hit the kids 24 hours before the game.

Now they get a home game in a week and a half.

At University of Washington, they “signed” QB Demond Williams for 5 million for next year.

Willams finds out he can get up to 7 million from LSU. Goodbye Washington.

Hey wait, you can’t do that, you signed a contract. We are going to sue.

You can sue but you can’t stop me.
Such is college football today.

Demond Williams has been described as sort of like Kyler Murray.
A day or two later, it has been a kiss and make up affair at University of Washington.
Williams will be playing for UW.

Maybe this is what saban saw coming down the pike, not just the nil stuff.

The SEC has taken a beating because of NIL. Most athletic directors of SEC schools have been opposed to giving out big money for players. Saban definitely saw that at Bama.
NIL completely negated his recruiting skills which was his great advantage. Money talks louder than he can. Schools in the SEC don't have the number of well-heeled donors of the more industrialized states. Players are negotiating to play for money. See sg14's post above. Williams' case exemplifies the evolving landscape of college sports, where NIL agreements and transfer decisions are increasingly intertwined with legal considerations. He signed a contract which meant Washington wasn't obligated to facilitate a transfer which pretty much means the contract he signed is legally binding and they threatened to sue him. NIL has become a boon for some schools and an albatross for others. Fact, but it is what it is.
