I was on a bike ride out in open farm / range land (long time ago) and hear a pounding noise. Not only hear it but also feel it as if the ground shook. I look back thinking WTF is going on. It was ONE buffalo coming over a rise chasing me. That experience with one buffalo never left me and have no idea what a thundering herd would be like. Must be freak out wild.
It was fenced in.
