Grinder wheels are very dangerous indeed. I’ve used them a lot throughout the years. I’ve had to run a hydraulic powered grinder on the railroad. 75 pounds (and when it was powered up it always surged) There wasn’t a manual trigger. It was on the truck (hydraulic valve switch). When it was powered up, you couldn’t stop it. The grinder wheel was at least three inches thick. That was used to remove the damaged/worn out frog switch out in the rail point area.
