The mayor thinks they deserve it and it should be in Southern Dallas in the AFC.

Let's face it, no team in Dallas could get near the Cowboys in popularity.

NFL on CBS tweeted on Thursday asking which city deserved a team if the league were to announce one. Dallas mayor Eric Johnson believes his city is deserving of a second team.

The Dallas–Fort Worth area already is home to “America’s team,” the Cowboys. Why would they need another team? Johnson offered an answer.

I was in Dallas a couple of weeks ago and the place is exploding population-wise. There are now 7.8 million people in that Dallas-Forth Worth region. It's growing by nearly 10,000 people every month. Most of it Americans moving in from other states. The road construction going on is off the scale.

That whole 'Texas Triangle' with Dallas FW at the top and then draw a line down to Austin and San Antonio and then across to Houston is just massive now in population numbers.

Jerry jones when he hears dallas is awarded a 2nd team

Texas has two teams and cowboys own dallas
California has three and you could argue 4 as LV is so near LA.

An argument could be made for a team straddling the San Antonio, Austin, Part of the Triangle.

But if Texas was given a 3rd team, you could be certain Oklahoma would be banging on the door for one.

OKC isn't small...but, Austin is growing fast too. San Antonio also could have a team. It's true.

agree.... texas is big enough, but not 2 teams in the same city. Another City in texas is fine.
New york sorta has 3 teams, but 2 play in NJ and Buffalo is... well Buffalo! :)

LA has "2 teams" but not enough fans that care... it's a joke having 2 teams there. one fine, but Chargers shoulda stayed in San Diego

This talk about another team in Dallas got me thinking about how any potential future expansion of the NFL would work, and honestly, 32 teams is probably the sweet spot.

Expansion of the NFL is a pipe dream IMO, sure the NFL is basically a license to print money, but I could see some owners being a bit precious about having to share more revenue.
