We have a bunch of heavy cream that needs to be used, and I'm thinking getting the old Maker out might be a good use.

Got any good recipes?

Would not even know where to start. Plus I like more of the bunch of stuff packed in there ice cream, not sure I could pull that off.

I thought the lazy way was just to throw it in the freezer and let it turn solid, but then again I can barely make scrambled eggs. I'm definitely not qualified to give cooking advice.

My daughter makes ice cream but she’s currently living in Ireland... and most likely sleeping.... and by the time she responds I’ll most likely be sleeping lol. But I’ll ask.

The Cuisinart ice cream machine is inexpensive and makes great ice cream in 20 mins or less
The Ben & Jerry recipe book can't be beat. It has some of their original flavors, too.

I home brewed back in my pre-kids days and (because it was beer) it was worth the effort/mess. I like ice cream but do not assume I can top what Ben and Jerrys make (or other premium brands). I asked my wife once (before we had kids) if she was interested in making home made pasta... and she looked at me like "why go thru that, we can just go to our fav restaurant where they make it". good point honey! :coffee:

When I was camping with the nieces and nephews I tried to make ice cream using a plastic soccer-ball thing containing ice cubes and the other
ingredients that you rolled around on the forest floor for half an hour.

It made kind of a soupy, cystalline mush, but the kids had a good time giving it a shot and it bought the adults some cocktail time.

Never tried it again, because, in my experience, ice cream needs to be scooped out of a container with great effort by a High School kid with acne wearing a ridiculous
outfit in order for it to be any good.
