the lethality of ebola limits its impact... some 40-50% of people with ebola die... hard to get on a plane when your bleeding out your eyes and ears ...

Ebola is absurdly contagious, even with its lethality. A nurse treated a man with it while wearing full PPE but thanks to a defect in her gear she caught it anyway. And indeed, its lethality WAS way over 40-50%, hitting ranges of 70-90%. However, the reason no one is worried about it is because we already cured ebola. There is a vaccine which is close enough to 100% effective:

There is a cure for those already infected:

And there are active treatment centers set up and ready in the USA:

So the reason there is such a disparate response is because the situation isn't remotely comparable, anything that happens with Ebola in the USA can and will get shut down before it becomes a significant issue, and if it does become an issue, we have all the tools we need to deal with it. There are many things to fear in life. Ebola isn't one of them.

Don't be so sure of that...

I'm not in fear of it, if I die, I die (ala Kirk Cousins), but, the Billy Goat Gates said the next scamdemic WILL get attention...as if he already knows what's going to happen. :coffee:
