I've been making edibles lately...they have a funky taste initially, but, the after effects are a mix of laughing, relaxation, sometimes a bit of paranoia (sativa), couch lock (indica). It's mostly good though.

I'm going to make peanut butter and chocolate bars this week. Yum!

I want to start learning how to do the same. I think the hardest part will be making the butter and balancing the THC level. I did a Dispensary bought gummie 2 years ago that got me so baked, I was a little scared. I mean I was fk'd up so bad I won't touch gummies again.

Some of the best times I've had though were with banana bread my ex-gf made and come cookies I got fomr a customer.

Banana bread sounds interesting...hmmm.

You probably ate too much of the gummie on an empty stomach as the first go round. The empty stomach concept matters with this. Just my .02.

If you go the brownie/cake direction, which seems to be the easiest thing to do, just eat a 1/2 brownie first and wait about 90 mins, up to 2 hours if you're doing it after a meal. If not, it's likely more a 60 minute span. You'll be able to gauge the potency if you sample the 1/2 brownie as a trial run. It's likely the 1/2 won't be enough if you've eaten a meal. I use an 1/8th of weed per batch.

Here is the way I do it. Outside of the obvious, you'll need a cheesecloth and meatloaf sized aluminum foil tins. It's quite easy and fun, actually.

I tried to make canna-butter but it was a disaster.
Follow the above technique.

It's really easy actually. The butter freezes before the water, so when you poke holes in the meatloaf tin thingy, the water comes out and all that's left is a thin brick of butter. Just zap that in the microwave for like 10 seconds to get it mushy, and that's your butter for use of whatever it is you're making.

Had a business trip to Colorado a few years back, had some chocolates after dinner. Was still baked for meetings the next day.
lol

How many of these "chocolates" did you eat? Someone should have alerted you to the rules. haha

A friend had a birthday and decided to get a cannabis infused cake.

The cake tasted nothing like it had cannabis in it, so we indulged. I think I had like two slices.

Two hours in I remember a friend locked himself in the bathroom. My other friend started crying and just went to sit at the sofa with her sunglasses on.

My other friends and I were just laughing at nothing at all. My friend who's birthday it was didn't utter a single word the rest of the night. He would just laugh.

The next day I woke up to go to work and I still felt high. It was a loooooooong day trying to snap out that lazy high.

Oh, I knew what they were. I just wasn't prepared for the potency or duration. It was an assortment of types, so I had one of each kind. Seemed reasonable enough, also reasonable to assume that they weren't absolutely loaded with THC...

I mean, you'd think that cannabis chocolate is the equivalent of, say, a wine cooler, no?

Every strain that I get is around 20% at least. That's the lowest that I'll get. I'm trying closer to 30%.

You're kidding, right? A wine cooler?

Nah, I mean, edibles come on slower, are a body buzz and are stronger because you are digesting them. So, baby steps at first compared to if you took a couple of puffs. It doesn't mean it should be feared, it's just knowing potency and amount.

It's unlikely you were still tuned up the next day, though. It was probably more of an aftereffect feeling than anything.

It's been awhile, but here's a simple recipe I've used a few times.

Crumble up some bud or sugarleaf. Bake at 220 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
Crumble again to powder like form.
Add mixture to empty soft gel caps. Many places sell gel capsules.
Start at first with cap filled 1/4 to 1/2 of what cap will hold.
Hours later you should be able to gauge a suitable dosage for how heavy a buzz you're seeking.
Don't push the dosage because this stuff can creep up and hold you hostage for several hours.

I took a 3/4 full cap at a casino a few years back and had issues playing simple electronic blackjack.
No way could I have played live table games.

I would certainly not entertain the idea of driving either.

You're probably right about the empty stomach, and as for baked goods typically what I'll do is not a half but a quarter and give it about 45 minutes and see where I'm at.

The night I ate that gummy, I was at my buddy's house three blocks away from my house and we were watching tombstone and all of a sudden I couldn't follow the conversation anymore and the video looked like I was watching something in major CGI and I couldn't figure out if I wanted to sit down or stand up so I kept going back and forth and finally I went out to get some air and I looked at my truck thinking I need to get in that truck and I need to drive home and there was no way in hell I was getting in that truck

LMAO @ your last comment in the casino.

I think what happens is, people miss on the science of it and the approach, have a bad experience and don't realize if they just kind of figure it out with baby steps, it's great and pleasurable with no negatives to it. It's simply different than inhaling smoke.

People see a brownie and just think "yummy, a brownie, let me have two!". No. God no.

Whenever I do a batch, I eat half of the brownie just to make sure even though everything I get and what everyone should have access to is the high end 20-25% THC stuff that's out there. Better quality than 15-20 years ago, you smoke less, you buy less, IMO. I know people that smoke way too much and I can't relate to it.

I meant the wine cooler equivalent on the scale of alcoholic beverages - sweet, but not that strong.

And yes, I was still borderline flossed at the morning's meetings. It had been awhile, but I'm very well versed in what I was feeling. Embarrassingly, I claimed a migraine.
