Dad loved Jazz, and what I listened to growing up was stuff like Parker, Monk, Ella, Coltrane, the Duke, and his favorite Django Rhinehart etc. Erik loved that stuff (Coltrane especially). He was a fixture on Boston Radio. forever. I listened to Erik in the Evening on GBH mostly when I stumbled on it and would just listen to a few cuts. Erik was an extremely personable and knowledgeable host, I really enjoyed him and his music. I should have listened more.

He was great. I didn't love all the stuff he played, but his enthusiasm for jazz and the depth of his knowledge on
the topic opened my eyes and ears to it.

I loved the version of "Peace" by Horace Silver that was Jackson's theme song, but I couldn't find the same one, so hopefully this
tasteful version will do as a small tribute to a guy that I really enjoyed listening to.
