Dad loved Jazz, and what I listened to growing up was stuff like Parker, Monk, Ella, Coltrane, the Duke, and his favorite Django Rhinehart etc. Erik loved that stuff (Coltrane especially). He was a fixture on Boston Radio. forever. I listened to Erik in the Evening on GBH mostly when I stumbled on it and would just listen to a few cuts. Erik was an extremely personable and knowledgeable host, I really enjoyed him and his music. I should have listened more.
