Forget the division. Now I see the Patriots playing in the AFCCG

Imagine if we had the other Drake, Drake London? We'd be unplayable. That's all that's stopping the team from exploding. The offence is already good, but with a big receiver like that, it would go to another level.

Can he pass block?
12 sacks in the last 2 games is way too much pressure on Maye.
Maybe OL is a sneaky need.
I'm looking straight at Onwenu to be replaced.
At the very least he needs to lose 30 lbs. The guy is FAT.

Just keep stacking up wins. One week at a time let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

If they did nothing else but bolster the line, I'd be content. The Vikings traded for Cam Robinson last year and it panned out for them. I think it cost them a 5th but they got back Robinson and a 6th. Protecting Maye is the most important thing.

Maybe there's no correlation, but watching Bills beat the Chiefs made me feel more confident about the Pats.

At least 7, and probably 8 of them are directly on Drake Maye. If you count to 3, and the QB is still patting the ball in the pocket, it's no longer the line's issue.

The other issue is it feels like the opposing QB can pat the ball, have a snack, tell a joke or two then throw the pass. Part of that is homerism i assume but maddening when the rush isn’t getting there
Improve both lines snd roll with the wr’s and db’s we have

I want the Patriots to trade for or sign spacecrime!
Ha ha. Back in 1962 I almost made the football team for New Bedford. Actually I made the team. The coach never cut anyone. He just made the summer tryouts harder and harder until the required number of players quit. So I hung in there but when the season started it was clear I'd never play so I joined ROTC instead.

I was an End. It was a two way position back then. Unfortunately I was too slow as a Offensive End and too light to play Defensive End. As a fan though, I'm a perennial All-Pro as a Homer.

Maybe. What I see is the pocket closing in on Maye in a hurry and he's constantly looking for a way out while still looking down the field.
That could be how our OL is being coached but it could also be that our OL guys, especially the IOL guys, simply aren't strong enough to hold their ground.
My take --> We need a more effective OL.

I agree - would love to see the Pats engineer a trade with the Commanders or some other team that's drafting high and needs more draft capital. But even if they don't there's a good chance they'll get a pretty good RG or RT in the first round.

We probably need RT and LG this off-season, and quite likely RG as well if Big Mike doesn't become Slightly Slimmer Mike and keep his head in the game. I love Wilson as a center, but he's a little underpowered as a guard and still feeling his way.

I really, really want a dominant G-C-G in front of Maye to enable the downhill running game and the consequent play action, plus give Maye a consistent place to climb the pocket into. Coach the Tackles to maintain the inside gap at all costs, even if edge rushers are able to take the outside. That's creating space in the G/T gaps for Drake to peel off if necessary.

I agree. You just don't see a lot of teams looking to unload good OL. In terms of the Commanders, it appears they expect Daniels to be back in a month or so. I don't think they'd further reduce their 2nd year QB's protection if they do intend for him to come back this year. And it would make sense from their perspective to want him to continue to get snaps, even in a lost year. I'd imagine he will come back with at least a small case of the yips so best to work through that in the final weeks of 2025.

My post was a little unclear - I want the Patriots to move up in the 2026 draft, most probably with the Commanders, who don't have a lot of draft capital and also don't need a QB and therefore would be receptive to moving down.
