We are on the move, leaving here in mid June and driving out and towing our camper. Going to see some places I’ve never been too like, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and a few others.
 
You will be close to Asheville. Don’t forget to go to Rockys fried chicken when you have a chance. It’s probably the single reason why I had to get bypass surgery and then two stents.:rofl:

Mt Rushmore was more interesting than I was expecting. There's a museum and cafe/cafeteria.
Yellowstone =awesome,,,

Are you going by the Badlands in South Dakota?

I think we might try to swing by there, we’ve got plenty of time that’s for sure.
 
Yellowstone is a must. And you need more than one day to see the best of it. Not sure how the camping RV availability will be, but there's plenty of decent hotels in Cody. You would want to also do Beartooth Pass in the area.
 
AK, not sure how far up into Alaska you are but I know it's about 45ish hours or so from Anchorage to Seattle so just getting through Alaska and Canada themselves are going to be quite a trek. I would assume you're heading due south toward Yosemite on the first leg of your trip, right? Curious what stops you might be making before you even hit the lower 48.

I'm being nosey because, while I am blessed to travel to some amazing places on this planet, I have spent embarrassingly little time in my own backyard that is the USA. My future plans will be to see as much of it as I possible so if you don't mind, please feel free to share as much as you think we can benefit from as you journey to NC. I am sure I am not the only one that wants to see more of this amazing country.

I’ve traveled the AlCan Highway several times and my wife made the trek from RI to Alaska 3 times in one year (before I met her), that’s a ton of driving! I’ll do my best to share the journey here, should see plenty of wildlife going through Canada.

I’m having my mechanic go over the entire truck, changing out transmission and diff fluids, check the ball joints and possibly change out the plugs. Should be in good shape before we head out.
