Bump

The time has arrived. It's week number 1 for Grog's pick'em, the 2022 version. As I did last year, there will be 4 dummy accounts. One will pick all Away teams, one all Home teams, one all Favorites, and one all Underdogs. For reference, the Away Teams only account finished 9th last year.

Good luck and good picking.

Go Patriots!

Yours truly,

Grog

Week 1 is in the books, and several of you had "weak" one performances. That said, the winner, correctly picking 11 games correctly (69%) in the always tough first week of the season is Brenda ( I think Jim) Mickelini. Noce job for a first time player. Ron Smith turned in a stellar 10, followed defending co-champion Dan, Grog, Home Teams Only, and Underdogs only with 9 each.

Jeff Freeman, I think it may be harder to 2 right (12%) than to only miss 2. Ouch.

Anyway, it's a long season and plenty of weeks to make up ground. The odds are in for week 2, so study hard, flip a coin, and get those picks in before the Thursday night game.

And as always, Go Patriots!

It's Picky Thursday, Time to get picky and make those Grog's Pick'Em picks before the game tonight. Good luck and good picking.

Week 2 is in the books and it was a battle until the very end. Chad and Megan ended up tied for first with 10 correct picks, with Chad claiming top honors by tiebreaker. Bmooney54 rebounded from a rough week 1 to finish in second place with a 9. Several people finished 2 back with 8 correct.

With the win, Chad moves into first place in the season standings with 18 points, followed by Jim (Brenda), Megan, and Ron all with 17 points, Colton is in 3rd place by himself with 16 points. Last place has 8 points and is not quit mathematically eliminated yet.

Now that we know the Colts stink and the Giants are a juggernaut, week 3 picks should be a lot easier. Get those picks in today, so you don't have to rush pick tomorrow.

Have a great week!

Today marks the beginning of your Fall (from the top of Grog's Pick'em). Get those picks in before the game tonight.

Rick Bantz pulled off an impressive week 4 win, correctly picking 12 out of the 16 games. For those of you going to school, that a solid C with 75% correct. Nice picking Rick. Alex and yours truly finished 2nd with 11 correct, with Andy, Chris and Colton tying for 3rd with 10 each.

Chad holds on to first place in the season standings with 38 points. Grog trails by 3 with 35. Underdogs only are in 3rd with 34, and the power couple of Megan and Colton site at 33 right, tied for 4th.

Week 5 is just 2 days away. Get those picks in early, change your mind, re-pick, get them wrong, and then say I should have stuck with my initial pick.

Good luck and good picking.

Grog

What an interesting week it was. If we counted the auto-pick categories, Underdogs would have won outright, with 11 correct picks. But we don't, so this week's winner is Chris Harrima with 10 correct, and also tied with Away Teams only. Finishing in second this week is me (Grog) with 9, followed by MikieMo and Rayna with 8 each.

The season standings show Underdogs Only and chad massoth tied at the top with 45 each. Grog is in second with 44. Away teams are in 4th with 42, and Megan rounds out the top 5 with 40.

There is a game this week on Thursday night, and bye weeks start so there are less games to pick. No excuse not to get your picks in early. Good luck and good picking.

And the winner is....

Newlywed Alex Polley, coming in with an impressive 10 out of 14 (71.4%) to edge Andy McNutt and Patty Russell by i point. Rick, Rayna, and Colton finished 2 back with 8 correct.

The season standings now show Underdogs only in the overall lead with 53 points, but since they can't win, the actual leader is Chad at 52, holding a 1 point lead over Grog at 51. The power couple Megan and Colton round out the top 5 with 47 points each.

It's a tight race and anything can happen, Start your win streak today by getting your picks in early this week.

Have a Zappe Day!

Week 8 is in the books and an ex-champ awakens from a season long slump to post a win. Nice job Riley McNutt, correctly picking 10 games this week to win by 1 over Brady, Chad and Seth, each posting 9 wins this week.

With his second place finish, Chad extends his lead to 4 games over Grog, 68 to 64. Andy McNutt and Ron Smith sit at 62, with Colton at 61. Still a lot of time to make up ground, but you've got to make your picks.

So happy first week of Nov. And remember, when in doubt, don't pick the Colts.

The auto-picks cleaned up this week. Home Teams only had the highest picks correct with 10. In second place with 9 correct was Underdogs only and MikieMo83. Since autopicks can't technically win, MikieMo is the winner. Other humans finishing near the top were Dan Morency and Rayna Mickelini, finishing tied for 2nd place with 8 correct each. 9 people tied for third with 7 points each.

The season standings saw little movement at the top this week. chad continues to lead with 75 points, followed by Grog with 71. Andy and Ron sit in 3rd with 69 points each.

And once again, it is time to get your picks in for the Week 10 games. I know, it's harder than powerball, but you might as well see it out to the bitter end.

Have a great weekend, and thank you to all Veterans as we celebrate your service this Friday.

Week 10 was a repeat of week 2 and 3, with league leader Chad once again winning with an 11. Brady finished 2nd with 10, followed by Julie, Colonel Crunch, Andy and Ras.

With his win, Chad opened up a huge, 8 point lead over Andy, 86 to 78. Grog falls to third with 77 points.

I hear Chad is booking a flight to Vegas to test his luck there.

Anyway, don't give up, there is plenty of time left for chad to overthink his picks and let us back in the hunt. Get your picks in today and have a great weekend.

Ron Smith basically lapped the field this week, scoring 12 correct picks (85.7%). In a distant 2nd place with 9 right were Jeff Freeman, Dan Morency, and Andy and Riley McNutt. Ron now understands the point spreads and is ready to head to Vegas.

For the season, Chad holds on to his surmountable lead with 94 points, followed by Andy with 87, Ron with 86, and yours truly with 85 points. We are coming after you Chad starting this week. :)

As we head into the Thanksgiving football feast, I am thankful for a stellar Patriots defense and for everyone who get's their picks in on time.

Have a great weekend and God Bless you and your families.

Week 13 was another wild, hard to predict week that saw Col. Crunch pull out the win with 11 correct, edging Brenda, Jeff and Grog by 1 point. ^ people finished 2 back with 9 correct.

For the season, Chad still owns a big 6 point lead over Grog, with Any and Ron 7 points back.

But there is still plenty of time to change that. Get your picks in today and move up the charts.

Have a great week!

Grog

Well nobody did great this week, but Jeff F. did win with 8 correct picks, edging Riley and Seth via the tiebreaker, As hard as it is to get all the picks correct, it is just as hard to get them all wrong. Julie almost accomplished that feat, but the Patriots kept her from getting a goose egg as she got the Monday night game correct for 1 pt.

The standings have tightened up a bit, with Chad's lead dropping from 8 a couple of weeks ago down to 2 this week.

Get hose picks in today and good luck.

What a rebound! After scoring a record 1 point last week. Julie came back strong to win week 16 with 10 correct, edging Grog by the tiebreaker. Nicely done.

It's the year of the Underdog. If you had just picked that Underdog every week this season, you would be in first place with a a comfortable 4 game lead. But no one did that, so Chad leads the standings with 2 weeks to go with 130 points, to games ahead of Andy and 3 ahead of yours truly.

The schedule is wacky the rest of the way, with games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, so get your picks in early.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and end the year on a high note.

Grog

We have a tie for first place!

Chris Harma and Brady Dearing tied for the win in week 17. More importantly, Andy McNutt scored 10 points, tying Col Crunch for second but also propelling himself into a tie for the season lead with 1 week to go.

So Chad and Andy lead the league. Whoever does best this week will probably be the winner, unless a dark horse emerges.

Good luck and get those picks in!

Thoughts and prayers for Damar Hamlin and his family too.

Happy New Year!

Grog

Reminder: Don't get your picks in today. That's right, the season is over. And what a dramatic ending it was. Heading into the last week, Chad Massoth and Andy McNutt were locked in a tie. Not only did it come down to the last week, it came down to the last game of the season. Chad won by picking Detroit, while Andy fell on the Green Bay sword.

Congratulations Chad. Nice try Andy. Thanks for playing everyone!

Enjoy the NFL playoffs and see you next year.
