intern coaches

I am just wondering...when a team hires am intern coach when the year is over and management decided to move on..does the team keep the intern coach or do they usually let them go? Just wondering what is the protocol for this?

I assume you mean interim coach....

There's no set protocol, but the majority of the time, the coach is let go. An interim coach is almost always a member of the previous coach's staff. The new HC will want to build his own staff. The interim coach may fit the new coaches requirements and he may be asked to stay on. But most of the time, no.
