Is there a game today? Paranoid Patriot told me this has to be the game thread and to add [Patriots vs 49ers 9/29/24 4PM on Fox].

He wasn't great again today either, and while he's hamstrung with the o-line as much as the QB and OC are, some of his in-game choices weren't great.

Edit: Fire Eliot Wolf now, and blow out the pro scouting department, so you can get new ones up to speed by next year. That is why they're losing.
They have drafted a lot of Olinemen but can any play?

Belichick’s utter failure at picking the offensive groceries going back years is as much to blame as anyone currently employed by the pats. BB left us in a hell of a bad situation.

Ahh ok, so now how long do we blame BB for not using cap space and not signing good players? At this point i would says this years draft is less then impressive.

After getting the game emotions out of the way, I really didn't expect any different results. During the game we lost Andrews and Dugger. Add to those to some of our better players that we have already lost, can we expect different outcomes against good teams?

We all know that. We also know he had nothing to do with this year's collaborative effort to let Trent Brown go and not do anything to replace him at LOT or to get a ROT.
We also know that Eliot Wolf has been with the Patriots since 2020.

You do know teams can technically re-tool in the offseason, right?

If you want to blame someone, blame Wolf for the terrible job "addressing" the OL when it was a glaring weakness.

I believe this was a catch and NY got it wrong. Polk's butt hit a split second before any other part hit out of bounds.

I watched the game in really low volume, so I didn't hear their explanation. But to me he looked like he landed in bounds. I was thrown off seeing the Niners offense take the field.

The lateral to Mondre was another ref screw up, but the game was so out of hand I didn't even get a chance to be too upset about it.

I'd have to go looking through the rule books, but I believe if he is touching the defender and the defender is out of bounce, Polk would then be considered out of bounds.

In that case, every CB should step out of bounds while defending these sideline throws when possible. That would work great on back shoulder throws, btw.

Right, which makes be believe I'm wrong....I couldn't make heads of tails of what would apply in the rules....specially from the angles we saw on the broadcast.

You know, I hear that completely, but when we saw Brady do what Brady did in 2001, I kinda still want a chance, no matter the players. But Maye isn't Brady, but who knows what he could do with this roster unless he's allowed to try. And yes, 2001 was Brady's 2025, I get that, but still, gimme something to get hype about Pats! lol
But in 2000 when Brady was a rookie he sat on the bench. I prefer we wait why ruin this kid behind this line with only one training camp. We’ve also already seen him against the Jets ……

Thing is he was picked 3rd behind William's and Daniels. They the both look solid and like they have a good future. Was there that much of a drop off that he needs to wait that long? 2 more games like this and you will lose this team and this coaching staff will not be respected. then in a year or 2 we start over again, I already think if Van pelt doesnt get this offense going he will be out for next year. So then Maye will have another OC to learn from. Maybe we are just going to be that team for the next 10-15 years that does this stupid stuff that we always laughed at, but christ you pick a guy 3rd you figure out how to get him ready to play. Maybe just maybe players respond to him and he makes them better. Look at Carolina with Young. That offense was worse then ours and he was sacked ever other play. Now Dalton is out there putting up point and they looks a ton better. To me its not even about win or lose. Its about see a couple good things to say alright this is workable. Hell it can be 80% bad and 20% good. Right now its 100% bad all around

If healthy, this Oline would be at best just OK, it's no where close to healthy

Jacoby doesn't look like the problem to me but we'll see, there's a hit out there one of these weeks that he's not getting up from.

There's much help needed, but I'd make O-Line priority 1-5.

Polk caught that pass BTW.
