IT’S VRABEL!!!!

I absolutely love mike vrabel.he's one of my favorite Patriots ever.and he's my kind of guy as a coach. that said I'm very disappointed in this as I wish they'd just clean freaking house. it's just annoying as fuck.

I wouldn't conclude that there won't be other significant coaching and personnel department changes.

I hear you ,I'm sure there will be. I don't want anything related to bill belichick to have anything to do with this franchise ever again under kraft at least.vrabel is more like bill's "mini me" . Again I love this dude and if the circumstances were different I would be like hell yes I love it. I just think that they need a complete break with everything in the past.

I just hope that now, some 16 years later, we can finally have some healing from the deep emotional scaring when he was traded to the Chiefs. Paranoid Patriot posted this poll and it's obvious we were in a lot of pain. Let the healing process begin.

Really delighted with this. He's a genuine leader and what I love is that he really wanted this job. You could see it when he attended the HPF ceremony last year, he looked a man aching to come back and be HC. And he played a blinder with this process, made a very public visit to the Jets to force Kraft's hand.

And he is not part of Bill's coaching tree. He played for Bill, part of the core group that formed the culture here but he is his own man coaching wise.

This should be good! Onwards and upwards.

I'm very happy with Vrabel. This team needs strong leadership and he will provide that just like Bill did.
Although he's not from the Belichick coaching tree, he most certainly learned and appreciated Bill's method of coaching and discipline.

I also expect some beneficial changes in the way the personnel department and Vrabel interact, including the faint possibility of a real GM above Wolf.

Bruschi is right, what the team is crying out for is a proper leader at HC. Teddy knows how it was in NE and how they all shared the same values and were on that journey together. Vrabel will bring that, and he will, as Teddy also said, push back at the front office, including the Krafts, if they interfere. Mayo kept talking about collaboration when he got the job, and the Krafts loved that. But it didn't work, and it never works. The Krafts won't like it, I am sure Vrabel will tell the likes of JKK or Glazer to FO when needed, but this has to happen.

I am very happy it is Vrabel and I think he was by far the best possible candidate.

Now I just want to know if he has the power and control he needs.

That's EVERYTHING!

I doubt he'd come if he didn't have assurances that the FO/Personnel Department would respect his wishes after the way Jon Robinson pulled the rug out from under him in Tenn.

Agreed, this is the thing I want to know the most. More than who the OC is, more than what he is being paid. I want to know if he is hamstrung.

I'm very happy with this hire.
First he will need to put his coaching staff in place. After that, his first priority will be to fix that putrid offensive line.
He needs to stand up to those who think that our franchise QB can play behind the likes of Lowe, Jacobs, and the dude who was a career backup then quit the team.
I will be watching.

We're all 100% agreed on this. it all comes down to the assurances he's been given about interference. Looking at the man, I can't see him accepting the position if RKK made it clear that he and Junior would be heavily involved.

NFL Network is now saying Josh is in the frame for OC here.
