As angry as Mayo must be, I find this hard to believe. On what grounds? Coaches get fired every year. He'll be paid according to his contract for the remaining years.

The only thing I can think of would be a lawsuit based on defemation.
My opinion is, BOTH Kraft AND Mayo are to blame. Kraft, for turning nasty on Bill and doing a hit job on him and giving the job to Mayo based on a personal trip to Israel. And Mayo is also to blame for having the arrogance to believe he could do the job despite having absolutely zero experience as even a DC and for blatantly running to Kraft behind Bill's back and working to get rid of him.
The mess belongs to both of them and they wasted at a minimum, a year of the rebuild.

I feel this would fast-track himself to not being considered by other teams.
This isn't like Brian Flores who could rely on his experience as a coordinator.
Mayo doesn't even have experience in that.

And he might never turn it around. But head cases pay a bigger price than most for lousy coaching. We know Baker has the talent. Let's see what some coaching can do for him, see if he can be an NFL WR. I'd give him maybe a 40% chance. But it's far from a zero chance.
