Joe Milton Traded to Cowboys

I wish Joe Milton well, but I suspect he'll make some wow plays, but too many "cringe" plays (if he's the QB of your team). I know myself I will take a boring balance of solid plays with minimal mistakes that win games.
if Milton plays - preseason but especially if Dak goes down and he gets reg season games - I'll watch with great interest.
Please list all the 'cringe' plays Joe Milton made for the Patriots in 2024. Very curious about this take.

Especially when there are at least 20 Drake Maye "cringe" plays I can mention.

Me too. I’m totally confused.

It’s weirder than JimmyG getting traded because Brady felt threatened…at least Brady was Brady.

Yes I don’t get this at all…2 potentially good QBs and we trade one for a fifth round daft pick what the heck

Give milton same mount of snaps, not just a game against the bills alternates, and we will see.
I like Milton and i hope he gets his opportunity, but the big arm gunslingers can be both wow and cringe
If he turns out to be all wow and no cringe then he is canton bound and pats will look foolish for letting him go.

I assume pats will improve o-line, so if maye has decent protection he won’t have any excuse if he makes bad plays. A rookie behind that line… i will take what we got but also expect improvements going forward

I think we're all in agreement here. It's a huge risk. If Maye gets injured or just has the 2nd season blues, it will come back to haunt Vrabel. I'm not losing sleep over this though as I've said. But we must get Maye protection up front and the coaches will have to look to temper his instincts to run.

Oh, NM. Duh.

I was a subscriber to SI when I was in my teens, and I thought that article ran in the magazine when I was about 13. But I just looked it up, and the interwebs say it was published in 1985 (when I was in my early 30s).

That's not the way I remember it, but I was only reading one issue per year of SI back then (when the swimsuit issue was worth buying).

Mike Reiss..
Milton follow-up: The modest draft-pick compensation (fifth round) the Patriots received in trading backup quarterback Joe Milton III and a seventh-rounder to the Cowboys on Thursday sparks a question as to why they did it. Milton looked like an asset at the game's most important position following his season-ending performance in a win over the Bills (playing mostly backups), especially considering Drake Maye was twice evaluated for concussions in games last season.

The timing, according to a source familiar with the team's thinking, wasn't a coincidence. Monday marks the start of the team's voluntary program, and Vrabel views that as a meaningful checkpoint in the process of establishing team culture and the dynamic that ideally unfolds within each position group.
