It was on the radio so no link yet. John Clayton is reporting it was accidental.

I already knew Plax was out this week, I'm assuming it's an accurate report considering the source and gravity of the situation.

ONly 7 hours ago or so, was this:

Burress won't play Sunday
FREE PRESS NEWS SERVICES • November 29, 2008

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress will miss Sunday's game against Washington with a sore right hamstring.

Burress pulled the hamstring in the Giants' win over Baltimore on Nov. 16. He then aggravated the injury in the opening series last Sunday against Arizona and sat out the rest of that game.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Friday that Burress "is progressing, no doubt. He is getting better."

Here's the link from ESPN.

New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress suffered an accidental gunshot wound Friday night in a club, according to multiple sources.

Details of the incident weren't immediately available, but according to a source the wound was not considered life-threatening.

Burress, who was not expected to play against the Washington Redskins on Sunday with a hamstring injury, was not at team meetings and did not attend the team's Saturday walkthrough.

The Giants organization was not commenting on the story.

Is "Good." the wrong reaction to have here?

He shot himself so the sympathy went out the window. He should've shot himself somewhere where it would hurt more.

I don't think so.

But "dumbass" should surely suffice.

Why the **** was he bringing a gun to the club anyway? I'm like damn, if my ghetto ass got rich I'm keeping my ass out the projects, ya heard?!!!
