Krafts File Suit Against Foxboro

It doesn't pay to piss off the meal ticket. Way back when, Disney World had a gentleman's agreement with the neighboring towns (like Kissimmee) that Disney would limit the number of hotel rooms on property in order to give some cash to the locals. Then the local towns sued Disney over a teeny little bit (okay, a lot) of pollution that accidentally went into the watershed. Feeling backstabbed, Disney exploded in hotel rooms and now the local towns suffer. Make Kraft angry and I'm sure he'll figure out ways to make things miserable for the town.

It's ok to say Kraft is a cheap-ass billionaire like every other billionaire penny-pincher, while at the same time mentioning that Foxboro trying to extort him for what he already pays for is ridiculous as well.

Foxboro is a town with 18,000 people. 18,000. Without the Patriots, their biggest attraction would be the Papa Gino's on Route 1. I had my 7th birthday there, it was big doins. 100 million budget for a town of 18,000 is crazy. Mashpee, a town on the Cape has a year-round population of 16,000, and in the summer it's more like 35,000. This includes Bob Kraft's residence of New Seabury. A lot of rich pricks live there. Their town budget is 80 million. And they're installing town water and sewer. Currently.

The town of Foxboro is trying to extort the Patriots, and it's pretty clear. No idea why you're trying to defend a town who is clearly mismanaging abundant funds.

Also, the Patriots, as I said, funds their whole Police and Fire Department with the 4 million they pay every year. And those cops make a pretty damn good wage considering the sleepy town it actually is.

You're clearly concerned more about Kraft's pockets as you're calling the town extortionists. But please go on. Do you have any proof of extortion? other than repeating that you think the town has enough money. Or do you just regularly side with every billionaire who files a law suit when they don't get what they want.

Proof of extortion: Trying to charge a million dollars for a 100 dollar permit.

I don't care about Kraft's pockets, and that's very clear from everything I've ever said about Bob Kraft.

The difference is, Kraft's Money is Kraft's Money. The Town of Foxboro is my money. That's why it matters. They're going to have to pay for lawyers because they thought they could extort their cash cow, and figured he wouldn't notice - and Bob Kraft is the cheap-ass that won't sign their 2nd round pick to a minicamp agreement over literal pennies to him - of course he would notice. They're elected to their positions to represent the people, not try to extort the only reason the town has any money in the first place, so they can pay for their raises for their part-time jobs. Bob Kraft married into money, and used that money to make even more money, and now is the typical cheap-ass billionaire, too much is never enough. The Town of Foxboro, elected officials, tried to extort said billionaire.

You do see the difference, do you not? But my all means, go off queen about the poor, disheveled Town of Foxboro. Doesn't matter, you're clearly not reading my posts anyway, otherwise your response wouldn't have been such incoherent nonsense.

Since when is the plaintiff's accusations considered proof.

Kraft is calling it a license renewal fee.

The town says it's not a yearly fee. This is a part of the license agreement not some annual fee. And Kraft knows that he just had to file something to create the lawsuit so he can settle for less than what he actually owes.

Due process. Ever heard of it or do you just believe the first thing that you hear?

I read his post his principles only come into play if you believe what is alleged.

There is no million dollar license fee that's a Kraft manufactured headline hence why I responded as I did.

officials said, adding it was “disappointed that Kraft Sports + Entertainment has chosen to appeal the annual Entertainment License issued by the Select Board.”
The Board sent a bill for over 900,000. to the Krafts saying it was now the Entertainment License fee that legal contracts said could only be 100.00

You don't get it. Kraft is the one who is always trying to get free services from the town not the other way around. The town is billing the Krafts for it instead of letting them add over a dozen events to this years schedule based on other years fiscals.

It's not complicated but you seem more interested in the way I phrased things than what clearly is happening.

The Krafts are calling it a license fee. The town says it's part of the license agreement. Common sense would suggest obviously there is no actual million dollar license fee and that's just Krafts wording in the lawsuit that's my point.

You are simply moving words around. The license agreement is what the license fee is all about. Don't know why you are trying so hard to make Kraft to appear to be the one not being honest. The conflict is over an invoice of $953,640 presented as a "condition for renewing the entertainment license." The suit argues that under state law, Foxborough is not authorized to charge more than $100 for an entertainment license.

The Krafts are moving the words around not me. You're just believing the bully because he said so.
 
Bully, this is starting to sound less like legal terms, more like anger; he filed a lawsuit. The town believed he should pay more for the event. They were didn't want to cover the costs of the World Cup :coffee:

This sort of thing happens quite often. Kraft constantly tries to strong arm the town into something. I don't expect Foxboro to win every battle but I also don't get why you guys would accuse the town of extortion when it's literally the other way around.
