Brady leads the pack

QB – TOM BRADY, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Second Team: Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

We kick off the list with a shocker. Tom Brady has been the standard at the quarterback position for the better part of his career, and in a year in which he took home his sixth Super Bowl title, Brady earns a first-team spot on the Clutch Team with his 90.5 grade when it mattered most. He picked up big chunks late in tight games — 1,073 passing yards on 107 attempts — and those 10.0 yards per attempt led all quarterbacks with 50 or more attempts in clutch time.

That should help unclog the TE Logjam. :coffee:

That's a surprise. He must not have been putting in the work. One thing about the Pats, they are not a team that is afraid to make changes when things don't look right.

I also read that he said he had to step away to take care of some personal issues but hopes to be ready to go in July.

I suppose that if the reasons are legit then Bill could possibly welcome him back, but that is probably not how it will go down. ASF will be ready to go elsewhere.

I honestly didn't like the signing when it happened and didn't expect him to contribute much to this team, so it is what it is. I always thought the guy was was in cruise control and never seemed to have much energy despite possessing some skill. I was never concerned when we played him, because he usually played like a JAG.

No big deal. I've chosen to believe that Ryan Izzo will turn out to be a pretty good player in much the same way I choose to believe that Bigfoot is real.

There is no definitive evidence, but I've seen some interesting footage.

One thing about BB, he cuts cords quickly and decisively unless it's a 2nd round safety. :coffee:

WTF! I knew Michel had knee surgery in college. I had no idea he has bone on bone.

He has a short career. Just hope it’s longer than Malcolm Mitchell’s.

Uhhhh....what?

Just watched Quick Slants. Curran & Perry tossing it out amongst each other, not necessarily reporting a story, but casually tossed bone on bone out there.

That’s the cause of the whole recent CBD discussion. I brought up my bone on bone and how I self treat with CBD.

NOBODY could take the day to day pounding bone on bone. Unpossible.

That's why BB drafting him so high was a shocker...

:shrug_n: I haven't really paid much attention to the draft the past few years so I guess I never heard anything about it.

Maybe the sports radio ilk and other assorted "experts" can stop crying about why they took a RB to high this year, too...

Michel might not have a long career, but he was pivotal last season and a major part of winning the superbowl.

If we can waste a first round pick every year on a guy who can only play a couple years but is intrumental in winning another Lombardi, I'll take that year after year after year.

That story came out last season and I heard it mentioned here, but after Michel started rolling in the 2nd half of the season it quieted things down. I'm not sure if the report was accurate or what, but while Sony ran very well for us, it did appear to my lyin' eyes that he wasn't quite as quick and explosive as he was at Georgia. There were a number of plays where he had a chance to bust a long one and didn't, but certainly he was very productive.

We'll just have to see how it plays out, but, like you, I don't see how it's possible to play NFL football if he actually does have bone-on-bone.

You'd think that if true he's just about done. And I'll admit that situation crossed my mind when we took Harris in the draft. Maybe the report was exaggerated or just plain wrong.

Somebody should ask Belichick about it.

Maybe team doctors told Bill & his staff that Michel's knee is not in a good condition, but he should be able to play out his rookie contract. And if you value the running back position highly (which is another debate for itself), you can spent a 1st round pick on a banged up player if you think you will get four years of good production in return.
