Izzo and LaCosse are really that much better?
Value, combined they are making 1/2 of what Watson was scheduled to get.

Ok. I never seen what his contract was...bummer.
Just another casualty of the AB signing. That was such a good idea.
It was weird, and even weirder that Bobby cut him. As if he's the model of humanity.
Actually, I think Kraft is a great human and a hell of an owner. I don't get your blasting of him so often.
I really, really wanted AB here and I'm very disappointed that he's not. However, I don't think Robert did much wrong here.
Just a caution stat... 4 out of 5 Wins have come against teams with combined record of 1-17... Putridly easy schedule so far. Except for Bills.
If looked at as extension of preseason, then it's been good practice reps against bad teams, with a bit of coaching film against Bills.
With Brady harping on the offense mediocrity, maybe MCD gets more people involved on Thurs. I wanna see a fresh Harris running over the Jints.
With the NFL's emphasis on division games the Pats have already played all 3 division rivals adding 3 losses to each of them.
Where to begin...
8 NFL teams have 1 or 0 wins
7 NFL teams have 2 wins or less
That's 15 teams < .400
4 teams are 3-2 and lead their divisions
8 teams are within 1 game of leading their divisions.
With the NFL's emphasis on division games the Pats have already played all 3 division rivals adding 3 losses, 1 to each of them.
1-17 sounds really bad but
the Bills are 4-1 and would be leading in all 6 of the other 7 divisions. Think about that for a moment.
It's getting better, huh.
Recalculating...1-17 + 4-1 = 5-18 & that doesn't sound nearly so bad. In fact, 5-18 (.277) beats the current record of 8 NFL teams. Take away the 3 divisional losses to the Pats from the JETE, 'Phins and Bills and they are 4-6 (.666). Absolutely true and that makes a huge difference.
Another point for the Pats. Currently, the Steelers D ranks 6th, the Bills rank 7th, the Jete 16th, the Redskins are 24th and the 'Phins are 32. That is pretty representative of the entire league in my mind. The Pats point differential is close to a record pace through 5 games missing by only 2 points. That's saying something.
So, 3 things I'd like to point out:
1. Parity is very real - a lot of teams are hovering around .500 and
2. The Pats have been tested by teams with good defenses that are better than their overall records. (The Steelers 1-4, the Jete 0-4 and the Bills 4-1 all have very good defenses that have played better than their records...except they played the Pats.)
3. The Pats have played the schedule they were given and did what they had to do. They will be fine.
In Stark contrast... the second half of the season has 6 of 8 opponents with with winning records. Including 5 in a row to begin. This sudden shift must be seen as a proving ground for this team and there are 3 more games to prepare with game plans that will include the kind of execution necessary for success against these good teams down the road. They will be fine this week , then the jets. Then he browns.. I've been closer to your pov in past years but this year it is historically bad. Half your games are against winless teams through half season and only 1 against a winning record. What it means is the offense needs to get it's act together. Get more players involved like they have in previous years since they will be needed later in the season...
Michael Holley was saying yesterday that Josh Gordon is out of shape. That he’s not a workout guy, doesn’t do cardio, etc.
I will say that I am very underwhelmed by his performance so far. Little downfield burst, certainly not The Flash. He’s basically a possession receiver now.
Thoughts?

He looked good to me.I remember reading something during camp that Gordon was on the best shape he's ever been. This seems to conflict with that.
