Looking at the Patriots - 2020

JJ Taylor is a pleasant surprise. The dude just runs hard and hits holes hard especially for his size. The best part is that it seems to light a fire under Michel's ass. I hadn't seen him run that hard and that determined since his rookie year in that playoff stretch.

I can't wait for next week. If Pats can do this to the Chiefs, we might have a very frustrated Mahomes on the sideline.

If there’s an area on Offense Bill does well it’s that change of pace RB.

From Faulk to Woodhead to Lewis to White to Burkhead to now Taylor. Another team will see that track record and pounce if Taylor is exposed.

I highly doubt your see BB carry Michel, Burkhead , White , JJ Taylor & Harris at RB. He find a way to put one of them on IR.

He doesn't need to do anything this week. There were only 52 players on the 53-man roster for the Raiders game, so Damien can return from IR without having to cut anyone. (Before the game, BB put Andrews and Uche on IR and only signed Ferentz so there is a spot open).

This taxi-squad IR is awesome.

Pats RBs the last 15 years who have over 100 carries.

The change of pace backs have something in common - their average yds/attempt has been great. Taylor filled in nicely while White and DHarris were out with 4 yds/attempt. All bets are off when those 2 come back. I still think Taylor is a guy I want to keep over someone like Ferentz.

G, Michael Onwenu, New England Patriots

PFF Week 3 overall rookie grade: 86.7

The man himself may not be there any longer, but the legacy built by longtime offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia still endures in New England. Michael Onwenu became the latest unheralded offensive lineman to produce high-end play for the team. The sixth-round rookie out of Michigan has been a utility lineman for the team so far this season but started and played all game at left guard against the Raiders this week.
In 69 snaps of offense, he allowed just one hurry and had a run-blocking grade of 83.6, good enough to rank 12th among all offensive linemen this week. Onwenu had four-straight seasons of solid PFF grades in college, particularly in pass protection, but even so his early performance at the NFL level has been impressive and somewhat surprising.

PFF's highest graded CBs so far
9. J.C. JACKSON, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Jackson kicked off his 2020 season with an exceptional game against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. He allowed only two catches for 18 yards while intercepting one and breaking up another, paving the way to an 82.4 coverage grade for the game. Jackson gets tasked with playing single coverage quite a bit in Bill Belichick’s scheme, and he has held his own these three games on those reps, allowing just 46 yards in total in single coverage in 2020.

Gilmore is ranked 27th. That big raise seems to have had a negative effect on him.

We've got a new OLineman. No one seems to know who he is but he doesn't look like a youngster.

PFF says our OL was best in the league by far week 3.

[h=3]OFFENSIVE LINE OF THE WEEK[/h] [h=5]New England Patriots[/h] No offensive line came close to sniffing the Patriots in PFF unit grade in Week 3. New England’s line combined to produce a 90.2 PFF grade, which was nearly 10 grading points higher than second. They were great in pass protection, but their dominance in the run game is the reason why they take home the honor here. The Patriots offensive line helped give on average 2.8 yards before contact per attempt and presented Sony Michel with a couple of holes that resulted in runs of 38 and 48 yards.
New England produced positive EPA on 58% of their carries (third-best of the week) and a big reason for that was the big men up front.

Pats signed LB Michael Pinckney (U of Miami) to the PS. 6'1", 220. BB is loving these LB/S hybrids. Not saying he'll make the team but he's like the 3rd one we've signed this year.

He might love them and want one, but if it’s his third it sounds like he’s swinging and missing.

Only if you think Adrian Phillips and Kyle Duggar are swings and misses.

Now that’s a foolish statement.

Those two are legit Safety’s. Comparing them to a LB who he hopes can be a cover guy? Just because the size is similar?

Cmon Chev. That coverage LB is about as elusive to Bill as WRs are.

I don't think that's foolish at all. They're being used as cover LBs from the box fairly often. You haven't been watching them line up on defense, have you?
