Looking at the Patriots 2023

A first rounder was just spent on the Oline.
That is good. A first round pick addressing the problem.

You were pushing 2 first round picks + on something that did not address the problem. That's why I said it was missing the point.

Nice try. Though.

I think he was referring back to the Strange pick. I could be mistaken.

Not sure where to put this one. Anyone go to the game and in/near section 308?

That's terrible. Worst thing I ever saw at a sporting even was the night of Curtis Martin's return to Foxboro. First time hosting a MNF game in forever and a day. I had tix in the 100's, my buddy's seats were in the 300's but his brother was in ton so I swapped with him for that game.

Went in early because I had no idea where I was sitting. Hardly anyone there except me, a very nice looking, middle-aged couple who were dressed in Jets colors but very preppy and posh. Then down about 10 rows, middle of next section, a small group of 4-6 Jets fans and a group of Pats fans maybe double that size. I suspected everyone in both groups was already hammered. Again, people were slow to take their seats so you could see and hear all of the banter between the Jets and Pats fans. Nothing volatile, just giving each other the business. Then out of NOWHERE, one of the Pats fans launches at one of the Jets fans, has him pinned to the ground, and is just unloading in his face.

I don't think it lasted even 30 seconds but in that time, the Jets fan looked like he had been beaten half to death and the Pats fan up and took off down the ramp, completely out of site. Over rushes security and they grab the poor Jets fan like he was a hooligan and everyone was like, "No, no, it wasn't him."

To this day I still feel horrible. This was all over and done with before I could even get halfway there. The nice, preppy Jets fan couple just got up and left. I was disgusted. I skipped the next game. Pretty sure they got trounced by Atlanta so proved to me a good call.

How about giving him enough time to set his feet to be able to throw deep with accuracy

That's a moot point if the receiver isn't open. But, yes, that would help.
I saw a graph a day or 2 ago that the Patriots receivers rank 28th in the league in separation.
In the Miami-Pats game:
Miami's receivers got over 3 yds of separation.
Pats' receivers got less than 1 yd.

Either quit calling them or find receivers who can gain separation & get open. :coffee:
Jones really doesn't have much of a midrange ball which is why BOB has been calling everything within 10 yards of LOS. Something needs to be done to create more chunk plays. Defenses will keep sending the blitz if we are just going to throw everything short.

If they want Jones to be the best version of him, they NEED to focus on the online and also getting him legit weapons…Calvin and Shit Shuster isn’t going to work!

Most teams are throwing much shorter balls. Even Mahomes who had the shortest average TD throws last year of all QBs as I remember.

Overall, I don't have an issue with a short game but you have to also have a midrange too to keep the defense from stacking the box.

The field is pretty wide horizontally. Paper cuts work. The Chiefs won a SB last year using paper cuts.
