Looking at the Patriots 2023

Spotrac.com projects Jakobi Meyers' next deal to land somewhere around $12.5 million per year. Pay the man. He's been our best WR for 2 years.
in a heart beat, and get another receiver that will open things up for him even more

Yeah, time to add a Punter to the list of off season changes.

Jake Bailey is a weapon...compared to Palardy.

In fairness, I think something was wrong with Bailey, and I'm reasonably optimistic that he comes back strong next year.

Slipped disc in his back.
Ah. In that case, I'm not reasonably optimistic. Even when that sort of thing is better, it's rarely truly better and even then it's often a time bomb.

What is Ryan Allen up to? He was good for us before we dumped him for Bailey.

I wonder if the brass is looking at Bryant as McCourty's heir apparent. He doesn't have McCourty's raw speed, but he's rangey, heady, and disciplined, and he can tackle. Not a man cover corner, but those instincts might be a nice fit. I'd prefer him to be an inch or two taller and 10 lbs heavier, but it's not a hill to die on.

Alternatively, Dugger's improving coverage skills make him McCourty's de facto replacement and Phillips becomes the starter in Dugger's role. And there's always Bledsoe to consider, I guess. Seemed like he had a strong camp, but got buried in the Patriots insane depth at safety. But when guys went down with injuries he never emerged, which isn't a great sign.

I hope they find a safety with excellent speed to replace McCourty's role. There are plays to be had there.
Dugger and Bryant are perfect for their existing roles. Don't believe Dugger would be the best fit for the free safety spot. All of his positive plays are towards the LOS.

I was hopeful for Bledsoe based on his play in college but by now guys signed off the street have move playing time. Hard to see a future for him here, like you said.

Totally fine with paying our most productive WR 3 years in a row Agholor's annual salary

I wish they could sue Agholor in effort to recoup his salary but they could take it all the way to the supreme court and still lose by nature of the fact that even my mother knew Nelson Agholor absolutely sucks.

at least he is off the books after this year, if they resign I will flip out LOL

he's not the worst offender. Wynn, Jonnu, others were busts

Or maybe he won't be back.

The New England Patriots seemingly have suspended two of their players ahead of Sunday’s regular-season finale in Buffalo.

The Patriots on Friday shifted rookie cornerback Jack Jones and punter Jake Bailey from injured reserve to the “reserve/suspended by club” list, according to the NFL transaction wire. The moves were retroactive to Dec. 31.

According to salary cap expert Miguel Benzan, Bailey’s suspension voids his guaranteed salary for the 2023 season. That would make it easier for the Patriots to release the struggling specialist this offseason if they choose to do so.

Yikes!

With what Zappe put on tape this year, Bill could get a 5th I would think. Maybe a 4 from a desperate team.
Yeah, I mean the last time he played he only threw 3 interceptions and fumbled the ball twice in a single half of football. Not to mention it was against one if the worst teams in football. Do better.
