Well done Malcolm. As I mentioned earlier, I watched that Falcons SB a few days ago, and Mitchell was phenomenal as we all know. I don't think we would have won without him as he caught critical passes in that 3rd and 4th quarter that kept drives alive. He continuously got separation with clever movies and routes.
people who say the pats can't draft wrs always forget him. he was going to be great for them imo.

Yes he did. I too have watched that game countless times. And every time, there he is. I'll not forget him or that game.

And Congrats and all the best Malcolm

Cheers, :toast:

I guess you just gameplan him when you play Tyreek Hill to lock him down in that case?

He's got the speed to play deep safety, but really I'd hate losing his cover skills.

I agree. We would need both Marcus and Jack Jones, but there would be one good, dependable, savvy cover CB missing if he plays safety.

Maybe the plan is a third CB that will come via draft or free agency.

Unless JoeJuan Williams or Shaun Wade pull a Josh Uche, but I won't hold my breath. :coffee:

Well Joejuan is gone at this point.

I had hope for Shaun Wade, but when the only time we saw him last year was when Myles Bryant was starting, I've admittedly lost faith.

Okay, so Marcus Jones and Jack Jones at corner with Jon Jones at safety, and another corner from the draft. How about Nic Jones?

Somebody should tell Kyles that, according to all the NFL draft pundits, Marcus Jones is strictly a
slot corner in the pros. While it is true that he struggled to cover the massive Tee Higgins and gave up a few
jump balls to bigger guys, the best play in coverage all season was by him tracking down
Davante Adams and laying his body out to tip away a well thrown ball with a superb athletic play. He's
going to be excellent with a little experience.

Marcus' skills at mirroring the quick-twitch guys is elite and I see no reason he can't be an
outstanding boundary corner in 2023. The kid just has it. While Jon Jones has been very solid for us, the last quarter of the
season was not kind to him and he gave up a lot more completions than we're used to seeing. He might be suited for
a switch to deep Safety if Dev does the expected and hangs them up.

Interestingly, that news wasn't supposed to be announced yet. I'd love to know how Thamel found out. Bet BB would like to know, too.

your post is also doubly interesting

Thamel is a college espn analyst so he probably has sources. But why would you say that news wasn’t supposed to be announced.

He hasn't signed yet
Adrian William Klemm is an American football coach and former offensive tackle who is currently an offensive assistant for the New England Patriots of the NFL. He previously served as the offensive line coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League in 2021. According to a Google story.

Reports have been swirling for the past couple of weeks that Oregon Ducks associate head coach and offensive line coach Adrian Klemm was flirting with the idea of taking a job on the New England Patriots coaching staff, and the news of his move finally came out on Monday morning, per a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Klemm, who initially interviewed for the offensive coordinator job under Bill Belichick in New England, will reportedly take over in a coaching role for the Patriots in 2023.

The Patriots also hired Alabama Crimson Tide OC Bill O’Brien as the new play-caller in New England as well.
After signing day last week, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning was asked about the possibility that there could be coaching changes this offseason, with Klemm interviewing for the New England job.
“I don’t anticipate any changes at this time,” Lanning said.
The Ducks will now be left trying to fill another coaching spot, which will be the third such position this offseason after both offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham and safeties coach Matt Powledge both left Eugene.
Klemm was an offensive lineman for the Patriots from 2000-2004, winning three super bowls in his NFL career, and also spent time coaching at UCLA, as well as with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL. He came to Oregon as the run-game coordinator in 2022 and was a massive success, providing a huge recruiting boost to the program under Dan Lanning and coaching one of the top-ranked offensive lines in the nation last season. He also helped to land 5-star OT Josh Conerly in the 2022 class, the No. 1 OT in the nation, and the highest-rated OL to ever sign with the Ducks.

Going forward, Lanning will have to find another coach to fill out his staff in Eugene, and it’s going to be hard to match the level of development and recruiting abilities that Klemm brought to the table. If we’ve learned anything from Lanning’s time with the Ducks, though, it should be to trust him when he brings guys into his program. So far, he hasn’t let fans down.
