Looking at the Patriots 2024

You don’t think him asking UNC to guarantee his son the head coaching job after him is bizarre? I’ve never heard of any coach being hired with that as a stipulation.

No. That type of of thing (quid pro quo) happens all the time in the coaching ranks. I seem to remember a time with the Jets...

Keep in mind, my comment takes into account your entire body of "work" on PP.

Ok. Just give me one example at the collegiate level where a coach has asked for his son to be names his successor and remember this has gone public from Bill's camp.

Also, in talking about a body of work, the nepotism that Bill displayed while with the Pats was nauseating and many here slapped it down as if his sons were qualified. Apparently dad still has to get them football jobs ...

Did his dad get Steve the University of Washington job?

What had his son done to become co-DC here and call plays?
he was a coach a helluva lot longer than mayo was. and judging by the defense this year, he was certainly more qualified than covington or mayo.
do you have issues with mike shanahan having his son on staff? how about andy reid and his? what about gruden and his son and his brother? need i go on?

How was Steve BB not qualified ? His players raved about him.
He is certainly more qualified to be a HC than Mayo.

Well-done. The crickets you'll hear in the absence of a response to this one will be deafening.

Nepotism is really no different than hiring your own hand picked hires. If you taught your kids/relatives exactly what you believe to be the right method of managing specific positions/jobs/roles…WTF is the big deal with that? 🤷‍♂️

Make sure to site the examples to prove your point.

Families coaching is NOT a rare thing either.

A coaching tree is similar to a family tree…

Coaching families…it’s fairly common. Not arguing with you, just to some who have an issue with “nepotism”.

He SHOULD have been hired for the Pats HC instead of
puke throw up GIF

The way I look at it,
First I think the Steve report is untrue or hope it's untrue.

Second I have no issue with nepotism in the general sense. The best plumber in my area has about 10 kids and virtually every one of them is in the plumbing business.

The issue I have is the public setting. Name another coach that said my son will be the next coach. To me that would be an insult. What, my own dad doesn't think I can make that level on my own.

I could go but think I made my point.

Did BB publicly say that he wanted Steve to be the next coach after him in UNC or whatever the correct name is?

It might be BS…
