Looking at the Patriots 2024

Again I asked you since you didn't answer before do you have a problem with the shanahans and the reids and the grudens and people like that?
You're always expressing admiration for Andy Reid and Mike Shanahan yet both of them nepotismed their sons onto their teams.
In general, I don't like it. I think people should get jobs based on their own merit and not because daddy or mommy got it for them. I think it does not teach core values that are important in life. I just leave it there.

Maybe you're leaning a little too far towards Mayo in this discussion and not being fair to Stephen or Bill.
Stephen spent 12 years with the Patriots. After his first 4 years as a defensive assistant, he rose to S coach, then spent 1 year as DB coach and finally 4 yrs as OLB coach and and finally OLB coach and defensive play caller, winning 3 SBs. Under Stephen, our S, DBs, OLBs and overall defenses were good enough to win 3 SBs and our defensive backfield was one of the best in the league under Stephen.

I'd say after spending 12 years of tutelage under the best HC and defensive mind in the NFL and having that level of success qualifies Stephen to coach college football.

Also, if Bill coaching UNC is conditional upon Stephen following his HC tenure is true, that's Bill's way of helping out his son and it's something every good father should want to do.
What it doesn't mean is that Stephen isn't qualified.

You are not supposed to logically take away the chance to create a way to shit on Bill, Chev. Come on man, you know better.

Mazz: Please feel free to try to shit all over Bill. Times are slow around the NEP for now so we need entertainment. :thumb:

I was surprised that Steve didn’t catch on anywhere in the NFL.
Ive never heard any player say anything about him. Good or bad.

This player below said this about bill.I guess he must be delusional. what kind of moron would think that bill had anything to do with helping a player be great?

“I’m incredibly grateful to have played for the best coach in the history of the NFL.

He was a great leader for the organization, and for all of the players who played for him. We accomplished some amazing things over a long period of time, many of which will be hard to replicate. he worked every day to help us achieve the ultimate goal, in the ultimate team sport. And, although we were successful, some of the greatest lessons I learned were in the moments where we faced the most challenging adversities.

He set the tone for the organization to never falter in the face of adversity, and to do what we could do, and what was in our control, which was to go out and DO OUR JOB.

“I could never have been the player I was without you Coach Belichick. I am forever grateful. And I wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose next.”

IMO, the Belichicks have been black balled in the NFL.

So, yesterday in your #2208 post you wrote (correctly IMO) that "...I think people should get jobs based upon their own merit..." Interesting, given your "blackballed" theory above. A definitive example of one being blackballed from the Cambridge Dictionary is "...if you are in the final stages of the hiring process, expecting an offer and the suddenly being excluded without substantive reason..." So, on the one hand you espouse people getting jobs based upon merit, but on the other hand you seemingly understand and accept the idea that the Belichicks are suddenly not being hired without substantive reason. Interesting, but not surprising.

I think something bad, really bad happened at the end between Belichick and Kraft. Whatever it was, it has caused the league to not want to hire Bill or his son.

Bill only interviewing at the Falcons last year and them turning him down and now this year he apparently has no interest from the NFL which is why he is turning to college football. Just reading the tea leaves and all of it seems to point to a really bad ending that caused him to be blackballed.

Great topic possibly for a different thread.

But this has nothing to do with the current Pats.

I think we have been very lenient, but this is getting too repetitive.

Lets drop this now or take it to a new thread. Please and thanks.
