Looking at the Patriots 2024

Q: Are you still confident in Eliot Wolf going forward? - FF Strat
I'm an innocent until proven guilty kind of guy, so I'd say my assessment of Wolf is incomplete. His biggest misstep so far was signing Chuks Okorafor as the bridge left tackle, which was a major whiff. Okorafor struggled at both tackle spots, played 12 regular-season snaps, and then left the team — that's about as bad as it gets. For me, that's strike one for Wolf, who needed to hit on that bridge-LT signing to make this offensive line viable for 2024.
That said, I'm willing to give him at least another offseason to plug the remaining holes on offense (left tackle, possibly right tackle, outside/X receiver). We'll see what he does with another high first-rounder, four picks in the first three rounds, and a boatload of cap space. The Patriots should be very active in upgrading the roster significantly in 2025.
No no, it wasn't just signing Okorafor. It was getting Jordan from the wal-mart dumpster, and not drafting an offensive lineman until the 4th round, after two rounds of runs on them - and insisting that guards can play tackle.

It's not just the bridge LT. It's the LT, replacement-level LG and RG until Strange/Sow come back (or an actual RT to replace Onwenu who's been awful), and a real replacement for Andrews, who at least can snap the fucking football.

It's not just one thing, that's disingenuous. Also, still sitting on 40 million in cap space because supposedly a girlfriend didn't want to come here or something.

I get Lazar's employed by the team, but he doesn't need to carry their water too.

I saw some show last night (Quick Slants?) and they showed Sow as having practiced (this could have been a repeat from earlier in the week). Also mentioned Strange while I believe (but correct me if I'm wrong) is eligible to come back wk 5 (not that he's ready to play yet... not sure what he has been doing)

note - couldn't open above post tweet so if they mentioned Strange I didn't see it.

This should be fun - the showdown everyone's been waiting for on the blindside rush: Nick Bosa vs Wallace/Jones/Jacob!

Cue Michael Buffer!
Pats should have a Tight End on the left side every. single. play. at least chip or start blocking/cut off outside move then just turn around and be a dump off option.
if Bosa goes to right side then.... whoever is RB (and we probably need one of those every play as another damage control pass blocker) has that assignment. if our center and guards could hold up a few seconds can't we help the edges like I'm describing above? honest question. seems logical but I don't have the o-line pedigree of some here so I'm interested in their opinion.

meh.
OT please. Steal a healthy one from a team's PS that has a good/great OL such as the Lions, Eagles or Chiefs. Colts, Browns, Falcons and Jets are also candidates.

I wish they would go get a fullback. If you're going to be a run first team, Commit to It !
This line has shown no ability to pass block, Maybe they will gel later In the year but for now, Run the ball..... (Rant Over ):banghead:

Agree. The "consequence" that it has to be to our active roster is a feature, not a bug.

I don't know about the fullback, but I agree with the rest. Running the ball more, and especially downhill/with authority, can actually help to build up the OL, and this can translate into pass blocking as well. Builds confidence, rhythm, cohesion. Within a game can help with the mental game vs the front seven, but even across games it can develop a new narrative that this group badly needs.

Generally speaking, I like the FB. Not sure about the fit in this system, and especially with Rhamondre's running style. I'm open to it, especially considering the number of WRs we're carrying. But if AVP isn't good at using them, what's the point? If this was Josh, absolutely.
