This is interesting, considering as far as I know Dobbs is the backup ahead of emergency DeVito. You feel confident that your assessment of those players is better than that of the Patriots coaching staff?
 
Jesus, Crosby would make the Pats D formidable. That's Championship winning stuff along with a franchise QB at the helm on offense.

Quality FAs want to come to NE and play for Vrabel, no question.
 
Crosby's health could be bothersome. He went on IR this year and had knee meniscus surgery 3 weeks ago. The Pats will want to follow that entire rehab before jumping in on him.
Also, sign Chaisson before making anything public about interest in Crosby. No need to cost yourselves more $$ than necessary.

Was he still considered a top 5ish edge rusher before his knee injury?

Yeah, belichick probably wouldn't have been nurturing the way they were, but I'm not so sure he wouldn't have privately handled things a lot more differently than people would have expected him to. That's the problem with his being so close mouthed about everything is that we will never know.Remember he used to meet with laurence maroney personally to help him through his struggles.

I remember people being mad that he kept putting ridley out there.Ridley had some serious fumbling problems. with stevenson, this was really his first issue if i'm not mistaken.bb also dealt with faulk's issuess. faulk's having the fumbling issues and then becoming a very valuable player on this team is what made me try to be more patient with the fumblers. ridley was the only one who just kept fumbling if I remember correctly.

Ridley was a damn shame because his only issue was fumbling. He was great RB otherwise.
