Looking at the Patriots 2025

Like Vrabel, I've always thought Baker was our best WR from the time he was drafted. The kid has refined WR skills. Give him a chance!

That would be great if he has a breakout year.

6. Sow's forgotten season: After starting 13 games as a rookie in 2023 when the Patriots selected him in the fourth round out of Eastern Michigan, guard Sidy Sow fell out of favor last season (1 start, 155 total snaps). Sustaining a sprained ankle in the preseason didn't help his cause.

For what it's worth, Sow has been one of the few players who has consistently been showing up at Gillette Stadium this offseason before the voluntary offseason program begins April 7, working out in hopes of a Year 3 rebound.

I think he had more snaps at fullback last year than guard.

PFF's new power rankings.
Pat move from 31 to 28.
PFF says Tenn. will take Cam Ward with their 1st overall pick.

28.

New England was one of the highest-spending teams in free agency. While they had to overpay for several players, that’s the cost of expediting a rebuild and acquiring quality talent. Their free-agent class, headlined by Milton Williams and Carlton Davis III, should give Mike Vrabel’s defense a strong foundation.
However, this rebuild won’t happen overnight, and significant deficiencies remain, particularly on the offensive line. Adding Morgan Moses was a step in the right direction, but New England will need to do much more to resolve its protection issues.

32.

With the first wave of free agency behind us, the Titans’ draft plans have become clearer — Tennessee will be selecting a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick. Cam Ward, PFF’s top-ranked quarterback prospect, has plenty of talent, but the roster around him still has glaring weaknesses.
Given the team’s significant investment in its defensive front, featuring Jeffery Simmons and T'Vondre Sweat, Tennessee’s defensive line will need to play a major role if they hope to be competitive in the AFC.

If Vrabes gets Baker to play to his potential I'll be elated.
Baker was the most impressive wide receiver against defensive backs in one-on-one drills, yet fell to the bottom of the depth chart during 11-on-11 drills and preseason games. His behavior on social media and being benched as a kick returner last year did not help his situation.

There was no way around the obvious talent deficit the Patriots operated with last season, which surely contributed to the one-and-done coaching tenure of Jerod Mayo. The response under new coach Mike Vrabel was one of the biggest Foxborough spending sprees in recent years -- through the first week of free agency, the Pats signed players to contracts with a combined total value of $279.3 million, the most in the NFL, according to Spotrac. That money bought a defensive overhaul that included defensive lineman Milton Williams, pass rushers Harold Landry and K’Lavon Chaisson, cornerback Carlton Davis and linebacker Robert Spillane. Vrabel is building a tough, physical defense. New England still needs more weapons for quarterback Drake Maye and a playoff spot might be another year away in the loaded AFC, but this activity should at least put the Patriots on the rise again.
