Looking at the Patriots 2025

On the other side of the coin, what would have happened if Parcells was granted full authority on draft picks. Parcels and Fairbanks were best at picking players.

With this announcement is Kraft doing it to relieve his own guilt?

I definitely see the traitor part (stealing Curtis Martin) but am at the age now I don't care (much).
Parcells famously didn't want Terry Glenn. He wanted some DT that busted out in 3 years.

During the Sullivan ownership years, Chuck Fairbanks and Raymond Berry had winning records sandwiched between disasters of other HC choices giving Pats fans hope of surviving the dipshittery of Billy & his 2 dumbass sons

then after 2 subseqent ownership changes -- the infamous Victor Kiam followed by James Busch Orthein in 1992-- who hired Bill Parcells and drafted Drew Bledsoe --- fans finally saw help to return the moribund franchise to respectability

Fairbanks, Berry and Parcells gave NE hope as leaders but let us not forget Parcells only had a .500 record and an image-clouded losing Super Bowl w/ a midnight exit to the hated NYJ's

as a Certified Calcified born&bred MassHole, I hold sports grudges wikked haaahd

so I'm not thrilled w/ BP for the NEP HOF
Speaking of Fairbanks, Paul Perrilo said some interesting things concerning him (I don’t know if I ever knew these things, Yada yada),,
Fairbanks was head coach and full authority GM (drafting, contracts,,)
Fairbanks had a handshake agreement with Hannah and Gray for new contracts.
Billy Sullivan said no to those contracts.
Fairbanks left because his authority was damaged.

So which low round QB do you want the Pats to pick in the draft?

None. They're all terrible.

If Quinn Ewers drops to the 6th or 7th round, maybe he's worth bringing in, but really I don't know that I'd want to draft any QB in this draft with any draft pick.

First I've heard about it but I'll ask around. Olave was a fav of mine for the Pats to pick in his draft.
He had 2 concussions last year in the first 8 games, the 2nd one put him on IR/to return.
He's had 5 concussions since 2020 so that creates a lot of caution.
He's good but that concussion history is a huge red flag.

I want my stud WR1 who’s going up against number one corners to weigh more than 190.
I know he’s close to that cut off, but I’m not surprised Olave can’t stay healthy.
Is he worth that 4th pick in the second round? I don’t think so, and that’s probably what it would take. He’s going to want a new contract here soon.
Swapping firsts, and the saints throw in Olave? Yeah, that sounds good.
If they get the line right though and draft an RB with some juice the current group of pass catchers will look a lot better.

Him being 190lbs has nothing to do with concussions, wtf?

He frequently voices negative opinions. Whenever someone mentions a wide receiver, he reacts similarly to how no player is good enough for the #4 pick. No one meets his standards. How does he expect Maye to improve without upgrading the pass catchers around him?

I’ve never advocated for not improving the pass catchers.
Generally though I don’t view WR as a high value position. If you’re going to take one at 4 he’d better be a Nabers type of prospect. I don’t view Hunter as that. I disagree with the people who think he’s going to be a generational talent at the next level. When he has to bang with NFL cornerbacks and safeties he’s going to get beat up.
Is he gonna be a 1000 yard guy who can get 8 TDs a year? Yeah probably. You can find that in later rounds though, and I’d advocate for trading back and getting more starters in what’s a very deep second round.
If Olave was 200 pounds, he would not be getting concussed like this.

It’s physics.

So you're saying the bigger they are the harder they fall (but their heads are excluded)?

I don't personally think concussions are related to weight or size. Instead, I believe there's an inherited trait (or traits) that make some people more susceptible to
concussions than other people.

If this also involves a swap for the 4th and 9th picks, I am interested.
