Looking at the Patriots 2025

Maye clearly needs to stop leading with his head when he runs.
We can go back and forth on this all day, but I’ll say it one more time.
If I’m taking a position of lesser value at 4, like a WR. I want him to be built to take 10 to 15 targets a game. Hunter is 185 soaking wet, and slender. It’s not like he’s a stout 185. He looks like a feather on a field with other college guys.
I’m not saying he’s not going to be decent. I’m saying if he’s there a team would likely swap firsts and give up an additional second rounder or more for him.
That would allow a total Oline rebuild, a stud RB, a great TE prospect, and a WR. On a team that needs starters I’d advocate for that rather than a guy who looks like a high schooler.

With all the hand wringing about Campbell's arm length, they said the same thing about Slater of the Chargers when he was a draft prospect. He has made 2 Pro Bowls.
Lowe's arm length is over 35 inches and he's not worth a bucket of spit.

Alright you don't need to bust my chops there are times when the speak to type just post what it wants to. I do hope you understand it was meant to say Deebo Samuel Sr. I have corrected it thank you.
OK, no worries. I wasn’t sure.

That WR doesn’t have the best hands, but apparently he has a gun. He can throw the ball like 80 or so yards.

He can also run the ball with good speed and power. he has 10.5 inch hands he can be coached better hand use.

Kraft publicly offering an olive branch?

What would Bill do? I think I know exactly how Bill would respond.

BB is busy trying to compete in the ACC.
Good luck against Wake Forest Bill.

College football is lucky to have you.

Milton Williams on who he is most excited to play with on the New England Patriots (via @greenlight podcast):

"Barmore for sure... Definitely him. And Keion White. I see a lot of myself in him, just how he carries himself, how he goes about his business, how he works, similar body type... He's got everything in the toolbox to really line up wherever, having that versatility to playing inside and outside.

"I pride myself on being able to do the same thing, so I already told him, 'If we end up on the same side, when it's time to go rush, it's going to get nasty. It's going to get nasty.'"

Time to bring this thread back to page 1.

The biggest question I have for this team now that the draft is over is who plays LG since there's no one established for the position. The room is pretty crowded so the competition should be elevated. Jared Wilson may get a shot at LG but I want him at C.

Garrett Bradbury. 8 year veteran. Started all 92 games for Vikings at C. No lost games to injury. Good run blocker (14th/64) but poor pass blocker (55th/64). PFF rank in '24 = 33rd of 64 OCs. Vikings gave up on him. Seems to be depth at this point and may not make the team with only $3M+ guaranteed. No positional versatility, OC only, Wilson should beat him out for C. I put him in here for info only for comparison. He's never played LG. (Too bad Andrews' shoulder didn't respond. I'd rather have him for backup C behind Wilson.)

Cole Strange. 29 pick of '22 draft and started all 17 games at LG in '22. Often injured since, starting only 2 games last year. Contract year. Bubble player, imo.

Layden Robinson. I'm pulling for this guy. 4th rnd pick '24. Started 11 games last year, mostly RG when Onwenu played RT or was injured. Missed 4 games to injury. Started LG 12/1 vs Indy when Pats ran for 200 yds.

Sidy Sow. 4th rnd pick in (117) in '23. Started 13 games in '23 but only 1 game in '24. Has played RG mostly but filled in at RT and LG as backup. PFF ranking 133rd/134 in '24. WTF happened to this guy? Bubble player.

Wes Schweitzer. 10 year veteran with 62 starts – 28 at left guard, 6 at center and 28 at right guard. He was limited to just four games last season with the Jets due to injury. Has only
started 8 games in the last 3 years. Bubble player but versatility might help him stick.

Jake Andrews. 4th rnd pick (110) in '23 and played backup, although he started at LG vs the Jets in the last game of the season. He was on IR last season. Thickly built, strong against pass rushers. Excellent drive blocker in the run game. Had meniscus Sx in late Aug. '24. Health status unknown. Can also play C which could allow the Pats to release Bradbury and Schweitzer.

UDFA Jack Conley. 6'7", 325. Huge guy played RT at BC last year but also played both T positions.

Who did I miss?

Who did I miss?
Missing Ben Brown, Tyrese Robinson at IOL. Think Brown is the best option at center except for Wilson.
Tyrese =?

What happened to Sidy Sow?
Did new “brain trust “ think he was weak link when in the spring they drafted Layden Robinson? I suspect so.
Sow got injured in last 2024 preseason game against the Commanders, out for 3 weeks. Not a good start for 2024 for Sow.

The new staff of AVP, McAdoo, Scott Peters drafted L. Robinson.

Sow played LT and LG in college. Drafted 2023, coached by BOB, A. Klemm, Billy Yates in 2023. Started most of the year.
Out a couple of games due to concussion in 2023. Has had ankle problems both 2023, 2024.
Coached by new staff in 2024.

L. Robinson played RG in college. At a Vrabel press conference a few weeks ago someone asked Vrabel about LR. Vrabel said he needs to be able to play multiple positions without any prompting. I was expecting a non-answer reply of “he’s good”.
